Lyari Development Authority
Lyari Development Authority (LDA) was established in 1993 by the Government of Sindh to oversee the development of Lyari, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It was merged with the City District Government Karachi in 2001 but were reinstated after its dissolution. Government Of Sindh
The Government of Sindh ( sd, حڪومت سنڌ) ( ur, ) is the provincial government of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Its powers and structure are set out in the provisions of the 1973 Constitution, in which 30 Districts of 7 Divisions under its authority and jurisdiction. The province's head is the Chief Secretary is appointed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. The Chief Secretary of Sindh is usually a Grade 22 officer, belonging to the Pakistan Administrative Service. Lyari Town
Lyari Town ( sd, لیاری ٽاؤن , ur, ) is named after the historic locality of Lyari. Lyari Town was the smallest borough (called "town" in Karachi) by area, but also the most densely populated one. Lyari Town was formed in 2001 as part of The Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 Union councils. The town system was disbanded in 2011, and Lyari Town was re-organized as part of Karachi South in 2015. City District Government Karachi (CDGK)
The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) was a local government of Karachi, Pakistan. It was established through a local government ordinance (LGO) in 2000, which also established various other district governments in Pakistan. It was headed by the mayor and was formed under the presidential rule of Pervez Musharraf in 2001. CDGK existed until 2010. CDGK became a major authority in the city and was granted unprecedented power. Urban authority was emphasized and rural authority was disbanded. The CDGK was a three-tier system, with each tier having its respective ''nazims'' and ''naib nazims'' (mayors and deputy mayors), and it oversaw a major increase in development. Hawke's Bay (Karachi)
Hawke's Bay or Hawkesbay is a beach in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, located 20 km southwest of Karachi city. The beach is named after Bladen Wilmer Hawke, who owned a house on the beach during the 1930s. The beach is very popular, with hundreds of people visiting daily for swimming, camel and horse riding, and vacations. Marine Life This beach is known for being a nesting ground of green sea turtle and olive ridley sea turtle during winter months. Due to this, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) organised a wetland centre on the beach for information regarding turtles. Karachi Improvement Trust
Karachi Development Authority (KDA) was established as the city-planning authority of Karachi in 1957, and replaced the earlier Karachi Improvement Trust (KIT). KDA, along with the Lyari Development Authority and Malir Development Authority, is responsible for the development of undeveloped lands around Karachi. KDA came under the control of Karachi's local government and mayor in 2001, but was later placed under direct control of the Government of Sindh in 2011.
