Luvuyo Pupuma
Luvuyo Phindile "PaPi" Pupuma (born ) is a South African rugby union player for the in the Currie Cup and in the Rugby Challenge. He usually plays as a prop. Rugby career Early years Pupuma was born and grew up in Johannesburg. He attended St Benedict's College in Bedfordview, matriculating in 2011 alongside fellow future professional rugby player, Luther Obi. After high school, Pupuma studied at the University of the Witwatersrand, and he also played rugby for their senior team in the Varsity Cup in 2013, 2014 and 2017 and in the Varsity Shield in 2015 and 2016. He came into a team that were promoted as champions from the Varsity Shield in 2012 to make their Varsity Cup debut in 2013. The 2017 Varsity Cup was the 2017 edition of the Varsity Cup, an annual inter-university rugby union competition featuring university sides in South Africa. The tournament – known as the ''FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International'' for sponsorship reasons – was the tenth season of the Varsity Cup and was contested from 30 January to 17 April 2017. Scarlets
The Scarlets () are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams and are based in Llanelli, Wales. Their home ground is the Parc y Scarlets stadium. The United Rugby Championship (URC) is an annual rugby union competition involving professional teams from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, South Africa, and Wales. The current name was adopted in 2021 when the league expanded to include four South African teams previously from the SANZAR Super Rugby competition. The league is one of the three major professional leagues in Europe (along with the English Premiership and the French Top 14), the most successful teams from which go forward to compete in the European Rugby Champions Cup. Southern Kings
The Southern Kings were a South African professional rugby union team that competed in Super Rugby and Pro14. They were based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape province and played their home matches at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. The 2017 Rugby Challenge – known as the SuperSport Rugby Challenge for sponsorship reasons – is the first edition of the Rugby Challenge, the secondary domestic rugby union competition in South Africa, and the long-term successor of the Vodacom Cup competition. The competition was organised by the South African Rugby Union and was played between 22 April and 16 July 2017. The competition featured all fourteen South African provincial unions plus n side the . The competition was won by Western Province, after they beat Griquas 28–19 in the final in Cape Town.
