Luuk, Sulu
Luuk, officially the Municipality of Luuk ( Tausūg: ''Kawman sin Luuk''; tl, Bayan ng Luuk), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Sulu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 37,873 people. On July 14, 2007, 8 of its barangays were constituted into the separate municipality of Omar, Sulu. History Luuk was the main site of the violent Kamlon Revolt in 1951. This municipality was once a warzone where the government forces and the Muslim rebels would engage frequently for a span of 5–7 years. Omar, officially the Municipality of Omar ( Tausūg: ''Kawman sin Omar''; tl, Bayan ng Omar), is a municipality in the province of Sulu, Philippines. Sulu
Sulu (), officially the Province of Sulu ( Tausūg: ''Wilāya sin Lupa' Sūg''; tl, Lalawigan ng Sulu), is a province of the Philippines in the Sulu Archipelago and part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Tausūg Language
Tausug (; Jawi: ; ms, Bahasa Suluk) is an Austronesian language spoken in the province of Sulu in the Philippines and in the eastern area of the state of Sabah, Malaysia, by the Tausūg people. It is widely spoken in the Sulu Archipelago (Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Basilan), the Zamboanga Peninsula (Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Sur, and Zamboanga City), southern Palawan, and Malaysia (eastern Sabah). Tausug has some lexical similarities or near similarities with Surigaonon language of the provinces Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Agusan del Sur and with the Butuanon language of Agusan del Norte; it has also some vocabulary similarities with Sugbuanon, Bicolano, and with other Philippine languages.
