Lozorno
Lozorno ( hu, Lozornó) is a village and municipality in western Slovakia in Malacky District in the Bratislava region. Lozorno lies near the western slopes of the Small Carpathians in the southern Záhorská lowlands. In the center of the village is the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria, which dates from 1629. The village is also home to old monument statues of St. Florian and St. John of Nepomuk. Above the village there is a lake which emerges from a "Dry Creek" through the village. Every year Lozorno residents or neighbors from surrounding villages gather to engage in fishing pursuits. Above this water reservoir is a trail that leads through the Little Carpathians in Košariská, which belongs to the municipality. Lozorno has several restaurants and pubs as well as a three-star hotel that provides accommodation and restaurant services. Anton Tkáč
Anton Tkáč (30 March 1951 – 22 December 2022) was a Slovak track cyclist who claimed the gold medal for Czechoslovakia in the men's Match Sprint event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada when in the final he defeated eight-time World Champion Frenchman Daniel Morelon. In this discipline he also won two World titles, in 1974 in Montreal and in 1978 in Munich, Germany. Cycling career Tkáč started cycling in the 1 km time trial discipline (sometimes called "standing start"). The most successful Czechoslovak sprint cyclist was originally in sports school in the capital city of Bratislava where he focused in athletics and mainly ran sprints. The 1 km time trial came by accident when, on a borrowed bike, he won the race in the recruitment city suburb. Soon he was recruited by the Slovan Bratislava cycling club where he rode and trained on the track in the 1 km time trial discipline. Slovak Car Registration Plates
Vehicles registered in Slovakia are generally assigned to one of the districts ('' okres'') and since 1997, the licence plate coding ( sk, EČV, evidenčné číslo vozidla) generally consists of seven characters and takes the form XX-NNNLL, where XX is a two letter code corresponding to the district, NNN is three digit number and LL are two letters (assigned alphabetically).
