James Blake (musician)
James Blake Litherland (born 26 September 1988) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He first received recognition for a series of 2010 EPs including ''CMYK'' and '' Klavierwerke'', and he released his self-titled debut album in 2011 to critical praise. His second album ''Overgrown'' was released in 2013, bringing him to international attention, and later was awarded the Mercury Prize. In 2016, he released his third album '' The Colour in Anything'' and his fourth album '' Assume Form'' in 2019, both receiving positive reviews and the latter becoming his highest-peaking album in the US ''Billboard'' 200, at number 21. ''Enough Thunder'' is the fourth solo EP by English dubstep producer and singer-songwriter James Blake. The EP showcases more soul music than the experimental dubstep and electronic sounds of his self-titled debut album. The EP contains a collaboration with Bon Iver and a Joni Mitchell cover. The EP was bundled with the deluxe edition of Blake's self-titled debut album, as well as being a standalone release. Reception The EP received a 64/100 on Metacritic indicating generally positive reviews. ''Entertainment Weekly's'' review stated that "The silky-voiced Brit's Bon Iver-assisted EP is lush enough to be played at a swanky restaurant, but it may be even better suited to an evening alone with a hard drink." He has mastered recordings for artists such as Muse, Coldplay, James Blake, George Michael, Hot Chip, Gary Numan, Peter Gabriel, Flume and Erasure. He began his mastering career as an engineer at Porky's Mastering in London, run by George 'Porky' Peckham in 1997 where he worked with a diverse range of artists from Aphex Twin's Rephlex Records to Kylie Minogue, and has also worked at Optimum Mastering, Alchemy Soho and AIR Studios where he cut the vinyl masters for Coldplay's ''Mylo Xyloto'', remastered George Michael's ''Faith'', and worked on the debut album by James Blake.
