''Love Carol'' is the second and final studio album released by American singer Carol Lloyd, released in 1983 by Philly World Records. Background and development Several decades later, the Essential Media Group record label reissued ''Love Carol'' in a digital format on June 24, 2014. It was distributed to the iTunes Store in the United States and features "remastered" versions of all seven songs that appear on the album. It also featured the radio edit version of "Come See About Me", which had previously been unreleased. The same label reissued "Come See About Me" with B-side "I Just Want to Love You" on May 13, 2014. Promotion Carol Lloyd released a cover of the Supremes " Come See About Me" as the album's lead and only single in late 1982. Carol Lloyd (American Singer)
Carol Lloyd is an American singer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is known for the release of her two solo albums: '' Score'' in 1979 and '' Love Carol'' in 1983. Career Carol Lloyd first signed to EarMarc Records in August 1979, the newest division of Casablanca Records, which in turn is chapter label owned by the Universal Music Group. Under EarMarc's supervision, she received enough funding to produce her debut studio album, which would become the disco-oriented '' Score'' (1979); Lloyd worked with producers Michael Forte and Bruce Weeden and recorded the album in her native town of Philadelphia at Alpha International Studios. She collaborated with several individuals, including saxophonist Mark Adler, design agency Gribbitt!, and drummer Robert Sonsini. ''Score'' is the debut album by American recording artist Carol Lloyd, released on December 31, 1979, through Casablanca Records and Earmarc Records. Following Lloyd's signing with Earmarc, a new label division of Casablanca, she began recording material for the record throughout the latter half of 1979. A disco album, ''Score'' was one of the first projects to be released from the label, which specialized solely in disco music. All six of the tracks on the record were produced by Michael Forte and Bruce Weeden, with the former individual also contributing lyrics to four of the aforementioned songs. Come See About Me
"Come See About Me" is a 1964 song recorded by the Supremes for the Motown label. The track opens with a Fade (audio engineering), fade-in, marking one of the first times the technique had been used on a studio recording. The song became third of five consecutively released Supremes songs to top the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' pop singles chart in the United States (the others are "Where Did Our Love Go", "Baby Love", "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Back in My Arms Again"). It topped the chart twice, non-consecutively, being toppled by and later replacing the Beatles' "I Feel Fine" in December 1964 and January 1965. The A-side and B-side are the two sides of phonograph records and cassettes; these terms have often been printed on the labels of two-sided music recordings. Brian Holland (born February 15, 1941) is an American songwriter and record producer, best known as a member of Holland–Dozier–Holland, the songwriting and production team that was responsible for much of the Motown sound, and numerous hit records by artists such as Martha and the Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Isley Brothers. Holland, along with Lamont Dozier, served as the team's musical arranger and producer. He has written or co-written 145 hits in US and 78 in the UK. Edward Holland Jr. (born October 30, 1939) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Holland was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States. Although he was an early Motown artist who recorded minor hit singles such as "Jamie", he started working behind the scenes due to stage fright.
