Louth Under-21 Football Championship
The Louth Under-21 Football Championship is an annual competition organised by Louth GAA for Gaelic football teams in County Louth. History First contested in 1972, the inaugural winners were Cooley Kickhams. As is the case nationally, amalgamated parish teams are a regular feature of the competition due to lack of numbers. The county board removed the competition from the calendar in the mid-1980s but it returned in 1991. The competition has on occasion been run as an under-20 tournament, in line with changes introduced by the GAA in 2018. It has since reverted to the U-21 format. The captain of the winning side is presented with the McGeough Cup. Roche Emmets GFC
Roche Emmets GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that was founded in 1947. It fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. Located in Rathduff outside the town of Dundalk, a short distance from the historic Roche Castle, the club draws its support from the neighbouring parishes of Kilcurry and Faughart in north Louth. As of 2023, Roche Emmets compete in the Louth Intermediate Championship and Division 2 of the county football Leagues. Jamie O'Hare is the club's senior team manager. Hunterstown Rovers GAC
Hunterstown Rovers is a Gaelic football ( GAA) club located in Ardee, County Louth, Ireland. The club's pitch is located about 3 kilometres south of Ardee on the main Dublin-Derry Road ( N2). Hunterstown has teams at all age levels starting from U5's through to senior level. History The club was founded in 1941. After challenge matches against the O'Mahony's and Collon, the club affiliated with the Louth County Board in 1941, playing their first competitive match in March of that season in the Second Division Championship at Dunleer. They won this match, against St. Colmcille's, Togher, on a scoreline of 2-4 to nil. In their next outing however, Hunterstown lost in Dunleer. In that season, Rovers won their section of the Ranafast Cup only to fall to Kilcurry in the competition's semi-final stages. St Patrick's GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is located in Lordship on the Cooley Peninsula in north Louth. The club has a strong local rivalry with peninsula neighbours Cooley Kickhams. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Senior Championship and Division 1 of the county football Leagues. Former Dublin defender Johnny Magee is senior team manager. History Founded in 1953, the club reached the final of the Louth Senior Football Championship for the first time in 1995, losing by ten points to St Mary's of Ardee at Cluskey Park in Dromiskin. Dreadnots GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club that fields gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. It is located in the south Louth seaside village of Clogherhead. The club has a local rivalry with neighbours St Fechin's. As of 2023, the club competes in the Louth Senior Championship and Division 1 of the county football Leagues. Stabannon Parnells GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Stabannon, County Louth, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football. History Located in the village of Stabannon, County Louth, Stabannon Parnells GFC was founded in 1933, however, the existence of Gaelic football teams in the parish predates the foundation of the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1884.
