Louis Page
Louis Antonio Page (27 March 1899 – 11 October 1959) was an England international football player and football manager. His brothers Tom, Jack and Willie were also professional footballers. He spent his youth with Everton and South Liverpool, before beginning his professional career with Stoke in 1919. After the "Potters" won promotion out of the Second Division, he moved on to Northampton Town in 1922. Three years later he moved up to the First Division with Burnley. He scored 111 goals in 248 league games for the "Clarets", before he was sold to Manchester United for a £1,000 fee in March 1932. Seven months later he moved on to Port Vale, before ending his playing career in the Football League in summer 1933. He started his management career with Yeovil & Petters United, and led the club to the Southern League West Section and Western League Division 1 titles in 1934–35. Bootle
Bootle (pronounced ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England, which had a population of 51,394 in 2011; the wider Bootle (UK Parliament constituency), Parliamentary constituency had a population of 98,449. Glentoran Football Club is a professional football club that plays in the NIFL Premiership. The club was founded in 1882. History Early history In 1914, Glentoran won the Vienna Cup, becoming the first United Kingdom team to win a European trophy, although as this competition took place several decades before the formation of UEFA, it is not recognised as such. 1960s George Best watched Glentoran with his grandfather as a youth, but was rejected by the club for being "too small and light". However, Best did make one appearance for Glentoran, in the club's centenary match against Manchester United. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. The Football League First Division was a division of the Football League in England from 1888 until 2004. It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions. Jack Page (footballer, Born 1886)
John Page (24 March 1886 – 1951) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender. He made over 150 appearances in The Football League during spells with Everton, Cardiff City and Merthyr Town. Early life Page was born in Liverpool, to Robert William Page and Jane Page (née Galvin). His father worked as a crane driver at the nearby docks. His parents had ten children, although five died. Three of his brothers Willie, Tom and Louis also went on to become professional footballers. Career Page began his career with Rochdale before joining Everton in 1913. The outbreak of World War I interrupted his spell at the club, making nine appearances in The Football League during two full seasons with the club. Tom Page (footballer)
Thomas Page (15 November 1888 – 26 October 1973) was an English footballer and international baseball player. Three of his brothers, Louis, Jack and Willie, were also professional footballers. Career Page played for Carada, Pembroke, and Rochdale, before spending six weeks at Everton in 1913. He then moved on to St Mirren, and guested for South Liverpool during World War I. He had a trial with Liverpool before joining Port Vale for £400 in June 1920. He hit nine goals in 41 appearances in 1920–21, including one in the 2–1 Potteries derby victory over Stoke at The Old Recreation Ground on 25 September, the club's first league goal against Stoke. He was top scorer in the 1921–22 season with 10 goals in 39 games, helping the team to share the North Staffordshire Infirmary Cup in 1922.
