Loris Gréaud
Loris Gréaud (born February 7, 1979 in Eaubonne, France) is a conceptual installation artist, as well as a filmmaker and architect. Biography He is seen in the media and recognized by international critics as one of the most important and influential artists of his generation. However, since the beginning of his career, the artist has refused to allow his biography to be published. Most of the biographies available are therefore knowingly incorrect or incomplete. His work is organized into ''projects'' rather than exhibitions. His first, ''Silence goes more quickly when played backwards'', took place in 2005 at the Plateau/Frac île-de-France (Paris). This was the project that rocketed him onto the international art scene. In 2008, he became the first artist to be granted full use of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris for his project ''Cellar Door''. Yvon Lambert Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Paris founded by Yvon Lambert in 1966. History In 1966, Yvon Lambert opened his first gallery on the rue de L'Échaudé in Paris, France where he began to exhibit American artists. He showed founders of conceptualism, minimalism and land art such as Carl Andre and Lawrence Weiner. Lambert left the 6th arrondissement in 1977 for rue du Grenier St Lazare in the Marais, where he exhibited artists including Miquel Barceló, Joseph Beuys, Louise Lawler, Jean-Charles Blais, and Allan McCollum. In 1986 he moved again to the glass-roofed space on rue Vieille du Temple where Lambert affirmed strong relationships with artists such as Joan Jonas, Nan Goldin, Jenny Holzer, Thierry Kuntzel, Glenn Ligon and Anselm Kiefer. The Residents are an American art collective and art rock band best known for their avant-garde music and multimedia works.
