Lolland Line
A/S Lollandsbanen was a Danish railway company operating the Nykøbing F–Nakskov line mostly on the island of Lolland. Established in 1954, it was based on the remains of Det Lolland-Falsterske Jernbane-Selskab (LFJS). The company received funding from the now defunct Storstrøm County and from the central government. The company was merged with Vestsjællands Lokalbaner A/S and Østbanen into a new company, Regionstog A/S, on 1 January 2009 and then on 1 July 2015 into Lokaltog A/S. Nykøbing Falster
Nykøbing Falster (; originally named Nykøbing) is a southern Danish city, seat of the Guldborgsund ''kommune''. It belongs to Region Sjælland. The city lies on Falster, connected by the Frederick IX Bridge over the Guldborgsund (''Guldborg Strait'') waterway to the island of Lolland. The town has a population of 16,911 (1 January 2022). Including the satellite town Sundby on the Lolland side, with a population of 3,065 the total population is 19,976. Nakskov
Nakskov is a town in south Denmark. It is situated in Lolland municipality in Region Sjælland on the western coast of the island of Lolland. The town has a population of 12,495 (1 January 2022). To the west is Nakskov Fjord, an inlet from the Langeland Belt (''Langelandsbælt'') that runs between the islands of Lolland and Langeland. Nakskov Fjord is a wildlife reserve, known for its bird life. History Nakskov is in the inner part of the Western inlet of Lolland, one of the agriculturally richest of the Danish islands. Storstrøm County
Storstrøms Amt (English ''Storstrøm County'') is a former county (Danish: ''amt'') on the islands of Zealand (''Sjælland''), Møn, Falster, Lolland and some minor islands in southeast Denmark. The county was formed on 1 April 1970, comprising the former counties of Maribo and Præstø. The county was abolished effective January 1, 2007, when it merged into Region Sjælland (i.e. ''Region Zealand''). The county was a somewhat artificial construction as the islands of Lolland and Falster did not traditionally share any institutions with Zealand, but rather with Funen. Vestsjællands Lokalbaner A/S (literally ''The Local Railways of West Zealand'', abbreviated VL) was a Danish railway company. It existed from 2003 to 2009. History A merger of Odsherreds Jernbane A/S (OHJ) and Høng-Tølløse Jernbane A/S (HTJ), VL was established in May 2003 after several years of close cooperation between the two companies. The company operated the former OHJ and HTJ lines, that is, Holbæk–Nykøbing Sjælland and Tølløse– Slagelse, respectively. The company workshop and headquarters were located in Holbæk. The company was merged with Lollandsbanen A/S and Østbanen into a new company, Regionstog A/S, on 1 January 2009. Østbanen (Denmark)
Østbanen (Danish for "The East Line") is a Danish local railway in the eastern part of Zealand. Østbanen started operations on 1 July 1879. It is today part of Lokaltog, a railway company operating nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster. Since December 2020, trains have run every 30 minutes between Roskilde and Faxe Ladeplads via Køge and Hårlev. There are also connecting services from Hårlev to Rødvig with a 3-5 minute connection time. The journey time from Roskilde to Faxe Ladeplads is 68 minutes. The stations of Himlingøje, Lille Linde, Tokkerup are outside of their respective villages, and it is even further between Faxe Syd station and Faxe and from Vallø station to Vallø castle. Regionstog
Regionstog A/S was a Danish railway company responsible for train operation on three private railway lines in Region Zealand: the Tølløse Line, the East Line and the Lolland Line. It was established in 2009 when Vestsjællands Lokalbaner A/S, Østbanen and Lollandsbanen A/S where merged. It merged with Lokalbanen A/S in 2015 to form the railway company Lokaltog A/S. Lokaltog A/S ( en, Local Trains Ltd) is a Danish railway company responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster in Denmark. The company was formed on 1 July 2015 as a merger of Lokalbanen A/S and Regionstog A/S. Movia owns a part of Lokaltog, whereas buses are owned by companies, subcontractors, that are paid by this transit agency to drive according to contract. Railway lines Lokaltog is responsible for train operation and related passenger services on nine local railways with a combined length of on the islands of Zealand, Lolland and Falster.
