Kwai Tsing is one of the districts of Hong Kong, 18 districts of Hong Kong. It consists of two parts - Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi, Tsing Yi Island. Kwai Tsing is part of the New Territories. It had a population of 520,572 in 2016. The district has the third least educated residents and their income is below average. Tsing Yi, sometimes referred to as Tsing Yi Island, is an island in the urban area of Hong Kong, to the northwest of Hong Kong Island and south of Tsuen Wan. The following is an overview of public housing estates on Tsing Yi, Hong Kong including Home Ownership Scheme (HOS), Private Sector Participation Scheme (PSPS), Flat-for-Sale Scheme (FFSS), Tenant Purchase Scheme (TPS) and Subsidised Sale Flats Project (SSFP) estates. History At early 1970s, the residents of Tsing Yi Island were largely villagers and fishermen. Later, the government decided to extend the Tsuen Wan New Town westward onto the island. The plan was to develop the northeastern quadrant of the island into residential use, and some estates were to be built on reclaimed land. Liu To
Liu To () is the area around the valley in the midwest of Tsing Yi Island. There is a stream in the valley watering the narrow band of agricultural fields of Liu To Village (). Its water formerly filled the Tsing Yi Lagoon and nurtured the rice paddies around the lagoon but now is just water flowing in the underground nullah to the Rambler Channel. The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon () or Lok Sin Tong () is charity organisation in Hong Kong. History In the mid 19th century, there was a market outside Kowloon Walled City. To maintain a fair trade, a group of local Chinese set up a common scale and collected service charges from users for charity services such as free medical consultation and burial services. In 1880, ''the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon'' was officially registered as a charity organisation.
