Locks Brasserie
Locks Brasserie was a restaurant in Portobello, Dublin, Ireland. It was a fine dining restaurant that received one Michelin star for 2013 but lost it in 2014 due to the chef leaving. The head chef of ''Locks Brasserie'' who earned the star was Rory Carville. He left the restaurant in July 2013 after which Keelan Higgs took over the kitchen. In February 2015 Karl Breen was appointed head chef. Locks Brasserie was originally owned by Claire and Richard Douglas in the 1980s. In 2010, Sébastien Masi and Kirsten Batt took over. Sébastien Masi
Sébastien Masi (Clermont-Ferrand, France, 16 July 1974) is a French head chef and Michelin star winning restaurateur with restaurant Locks Brasserie. Masi emigrated to Ireland in 1994 to work and train at Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. Later he worked in The Commons Restaurant. Due to head chefs leaving the restaurant, he became the head chef of a Michelin starred restaurant at the age of 22. He was not able to retain the star for 1998. Masi left The Commons Restaurant in September 2000. In October 2000 he, and his partner Kirsten Batt, opened ''Pearl Brasserie'' in Merrion Street. Portobello, Dublin
Portobello (, meaning 'beautiful harbour') is an area of Dublin in Ireland, within the southern city centre and bounded to the south by the Grand Canal. It came into existence as a small suburb south of the city in the 18th century, centred on Richmond Street. Rory Carville (Castleblayney, County Monaghan) is an Irish Michelin star winning head chef formerly with restaurant Locks Brasserie in Dublin. Carville studied at the Killybegs Catering College.
