Loagan Bunut National Park
The Loagan Bunut National Park ( ms, Taman Negara Loagan Bunut) is a national park located in Miri Division, Sarawak, Malaysia, on the Borneo island. The park was named after the Loagan Bunut lake nearby, which is connected to ''Sungai Bunut'' (''sungai'' is Malay for river), '' Sungai Baram'' and ''Sungai Tinjar''. This park occupies a space of and is well known for its rich biodiversity and unique aquatic ecosystem. The national park was gazetted on January 1, 1990 and it was opened to public on August 29, 1991. Sarawak (; ) is a state of Malaysia. Miri Division
Miri Division is one of the twelve administrative divisions of Sarawak, Malaysia. It has a total area of 26,777.1 square kilometres, and is the second largest division after Kapit Division. The seat of this division is the city of Miri. The population of Miri Division (year 2000 census) was 316,400. Ethnically, the population was Iban, Chinese, Malay (mostly Bruneian and Kedayan), Melanau, Kayan, Kenyah, Lun Bawang and Kelabit. Due to the petroleum industry, there is also a large foreign worker population. Miri Division consists of two districts: Miri and Marudi. Baram River
The Baram River ( ms, Sungai Baram) is a river in Sarawak on the island of Borneo. The river originates in the Kelabit Highlands, a watershed demarcated by the Iran Mountains of East Kalimantan, which form a natural border with Sarawak. The river flows westwards through tropical rainforest to the South China Sea. The Baram River terminates in a delta, which is subdivided into two units: East Barma Delta of Middle-Late Miocene age and West Baram Delta of Late Miocene-Quaternary age. The western unit is composed of mudstones enriched in organic components (total organic carbon content is more than 1.0 wt.%) which constitute substantial oil and gas reserves.
