"Load Me Up" is a song by Canadian rock group Matthew Good Band. The song was released as the second single from the band's third studio album, ''Beautiful Midnight''. The song reached No. 1 on Canada's Rock chart, and continues to be one of the band's most popular songs. The song is featured on the MuchMusic compilation album, ''Big Shiny Tunes 5''. The song was ranked No. 1 by ''Vice'' on their “Completely Biased Ranking of the 60 Best CanRock Songs Ever” list. Matthew Good Band
Matthew Good Band was a Canadian alternative rock band formed in Coquitlam, British Columbia in 1995. The band consisted of singer-songwriter/guitarist Matthew Good, guitarist/keyboardist Dave Genn, drummer Ian Browne and bassist Geoff Lloyd. Lloyd was replaced by Rich Priske in 1998. They became one of the most successful rock bands in Canada during the late 1990s and early 2000s, being nominated for 14 Juno Awards and winning the awards for " Best Group" and "Best Rock Album" (''Beautiful Midnight'') in 2000. "Big Shiny Tunes 5" is the fifth edition of the MuchMusic compilation series, '' Big Shiny Tunes''. The album contains six songs that reached #1 on Canada's Rock chart in 2000 (" Bent", "Load Me Up", "Kryptonite", " Take a Picture", " Wonderful" and "Otherside"), more than any other ''Big Shiny Tunes'' album released before the chart's discontinuation. The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is a nonprofit organization that operates an annual 15-day summer fair, 10-day winter fair, a seasonal amusement park, and indoor arenas in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The PNE fair is held at Hastings Park, beginning in mid-to-late August and ending in early September, usually Labour Day, and in mid-December until Christmas. Pacific Coliseum, known to locals as "The Coliseum" or the "Rink on Renfrew," is an indoor arena located at Hastings Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. Its main use has been for ice hockey and the arena has been the home for several ice hockey teams.
