Llew Reese
William Frederick Llewellyn Reese (5 April 1919 – 22 September 1982) was an Australian politician. He was born at Hamilton, Victoria, to schoolteachers William Reese and Euphemia Clark. He attended a variety of state schools before becoming an accountant, practising from 1937. From 1939 to 1942 he served in the 8th Battalion seconded to the Supply Department. On 19 December 1942, he married Mavis Jean Clark, with whom he had a daughter. From 1952, he was a director of Car Parts Sales Pty Ltd. A member of the Liberal Party, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Assembly for Moorabbin in 1967. He transferred to Heatherton in 1976, but was defeated in 1979. Hamilton is a large town in south-western Victoria, Australia, at the intersection of the Glenelg Highway and the Henty Highway. The Hamilton Highway connects it to Geelong. 8th Battalion (Australia)
The 8th Battalion was an infantry battalion of the Australian Army. Initially raised in 1914 for the First Australian Imperial Force during the First World War the battalion was completely recruited from Victoria and formed part of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Division. During the war it fought at Gallipoli and in France and Belgium on the Western Front. It was disbanded in 1919, before being re-raised as a Militia battalion in 1921. During the Second World War the 8th Battalion was used primarily as a garrison unit before taking part in the Bougainville campaign late in the war. It was disbanded again in 1946 during the demobilisation process, although it was reformed again in 1948 when it was amalgamated with the 7th Battalion. Norman Billing
Norman Alexander William Billing (15 January 1913 – 1 November 1989) was an Australian politician. He was born at Port Melbourne to plumber Henry Ernest Billing and Nellie Marquis. He attended state schools at Springvale and Dandenong, and entered the public service in 1928. During World War II he was a sergeant in the Field Ambulance; he was also a cricketer, playing for Prahran and Richmond from 1931 to 1947. From 1953 to 1976 he managed Springvale Community Hospital, and he was also closely involved with St John Ambulance. Peter Cornelis Spyker (born 7 June 1942) is a Dutch-born Australian politician. He was born in Amersfoort to baker Peter Cornelis Spyker and Cornelia, a factory worker. He emigrated with his family to Australia in 1953, and attended Bentleigh High School and Sandringham Technical School before becoming a fitter and turner. He worked for Freighter Industries from 1959 to 1974 and Dormans Pty Ltd from 1974 to 1979. He joined the Labor Party in 1963 and was secretary of the Cheltenham branch from 1969 to 1979.
