Llanquihue National Reserve () is a national reserve of Chile. The reserve is bordered by the Petrohué River on the northeast and by the Reloncaví Estuary on the east. Fitzroya
''Fitzroya'' is a monotypic genus in the cypress family. The single living species, ''Fitzroya cupressoides'', is a tall, long-lived conifer native to the Andes mountains and coastal of southern Chile, and only to the Andes mountains Argentina, where it is an important member of the Valdivian temperate rain forests. Common names include ''alerce'' ("larch" in Spanish), ''lahuán'' (Spanish, from the Mapuche name ''lawal''), and Patagonian cypress. The genus was named in honour of Robert FitzRoy. Description ''Fitzroya cupressoides'' is the largest tree species in South America, normally growing to 40–60 m, but occasionally more than 70 m, and up to 5 m in trunk diameter. Its rough pyramidal canopy provides cover for the southern beech, laurel and myrtle. The largest known living specimen is Alerce Milenario in Alerce Costero National Park, Chile. Calbuco (volcano)
Calbuco ( ; es, Volcán Calbuco, ) is a stratovolcano in southern Chile, located southeast of Llanquihue Lake and northwest of Chapo Lake, in the Los Lagos Region, and close to the cities of Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt. With an elevation of 2,015 meters above sea level, the volcano and the surrounding area are protected within the Llanquihue National Reserve. The most recent eruption, a major VEI 4 event, happened with little warning on April 22–23, 2015, followed by a smaller eruption on April 30. This was Calbuco's first activity since 1972. Puerto Montt
Puerto Montt (Mapuche: Meli Pulli) is a port city and commune in southern Chile, located at the northern end of the Reloncaví Sound in the Llanquihue Province, Los Lagos Region, 1,055 km to the south of the capital, Santiago. Alerce Andino National Park
Alerce Andino National Park is located in the Andes, in Los Lagos Region of Chile. This national park covers about 393 km2. It is bounded by the Reloncaví Estuary on its east and south sides, and by the Reloncaví Sound to the west (excluding a coastal fringe of a few km). To its north lies Chapo Lake. The park contains about 50 lakes and natural ponds. Management of this and other national parks in Chile is entrusted to Corporacion Nacional Forestal, CONAF.
