Lolland Municipality
Lolland municipality (on the island of Lolland) is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in Region Sjælland in Denmark. According to ''Municipal And Regional Key Figures'' (www.noegletal.dk) it covers a total area of 885.40 km² (341.85 square miles) and has a population of 40,022 (1 March 2022;45.20 inh./sq.km/117.06/sq.mi.). The western part of Guldborgsund Municipality, the southernmost in Denmark, occupies the eastern part of the island (''Østlolland''). The city hall and the seat of the mayor of Lolland municipality is in Maribo while the largest town is Nakskov. There are 25 members from 1. January 2018 - a reduction from 31 members - of the municipal council. The current mayor is a Social Democrat. Snick Nill
SNICK (short for Saturday Night Nickelodeon) was a two-hour programming block on the American cable television network Nickelodeon, geared toward older (preteen to teen) audiences, that ran from August 15, 1992 until January 29, 2005. It was aired on Saturdays starting at 8 p.m and ending at 10 p.m. ET. In 2005, SNICK was revamped as the Saturday night edition of TEENick. Nickelodeon continues to run a Saturday night programming block today, though since the TEENick name was removed from the lineup in February 2009, the block no longer goes by any name. Pederstrup
Pederstrup is a historic manor house located north of Nakskov on the Danish island of Lolland. The half-timbered building from 1686 was rebuilt from 1813 to 1822 in the Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical style by the statesman Christian Ditlev Frederik Reventlow. Since 1940, it has housed the Reventlow Museum. History Pederstrup was first mentioned in the 1340s when the estate belonged to Rigsdrost Laurits Jonsen. A vaulted cellar from the mid-16th century is the oldest remaining part of the building which then served as the residence of the king's vassal. In 1576, King Frederick II of Denmark, Frederick II sold the property to the Venstermand family. In 1684, the half-timbered building was purchased by the statesman Peder von Brandt who added two symmetrical wings in the Baroque architecture, Baroque style. Søllested
Søllested was the administrative centre of the former Højreby Municipality in Denmark. Since 1 January 2007, it has been a part of the new Lolland Municipality. The town lies 9 km east of Nakskov. Frederiksdal, Lolland Municipality
Frederiksdal is a manor house and estate located 10 km northwest of Nakskov on Lolland, in southeastern Denmark. The estate covers 538 hectares of land. It is known for its fortified cherry wine. History Grimsted The estate was originally called Grimsted and is first mentioned in 1305 but not referred to as a manor until the 16th century. It was by then possibly owned by Niels Vincentsen Lunge, a member of the Privy Council and the owner of nearby Asserstrup. who on his death in 1552 left the estate to his daughter Anne Lunge. Sje married Knud Steensen in1558. After his death in 1575 she resided on the estate for several periods of time. She also outlived their only child and on her death in 1602 Grimsted therefore passed to her 9-year-old grandson, Christoffer Steensen, who in 1635 married Birgitte Mormand, whose family owned Bramsløkke. On 1 January 2022 it had a population of 476, and is located to the northwest of Knuthenborg Safari Park and Maribo. From Bandholm there is ferry service to Askø and rail link to Maribo, north of Maribo. Stokkemarke is its west and Østofte Parish forms its southwest border. It is served by Bandholm Station. Søholt
Søholt is a manor house located on the southern shore of the Maribo Lakes on Lolland in southeastern Denmark. The main building is from 1804 but was adapted to the Renaissance Revival architecture, Renaissance Revival style in the second half of the 19th century. The Baroque-style garden is open to the public. History Early history The manor was established by Morten Venstermand in the middle of the 16th century. His widow, Anne Andersdatter Galt, brought Søholt into her second marriage to Falk Axelsen Brahe. He struggled with economic difficulties and therefore chose to sell Søholt to his brother-in-law Eiler Quitzow in 1618. Henrik Heest, a nobleman from Holstein, purchased Søholt from Quitzow in 1624. In 1637, it was sold by his nephew to Jobst Frederik von Papenheim.
