Ghor Province
Ghōr (Dari: ), also spelled Ghowr or Ghur, is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan. It is located in the western Hindu Kush in central Afghanistan, towards the northwest. The province contains eleven districts, encompassing hundreds of villages, and approximately 764,472 settled people. Firuzkoh (called Chaghcharan until 2014) serves as the capital of the province. Ibrahim Malikzada
Mohammad Ibrahim Malikzada (محمد ابراهیم ملکزاده) (born 1966)http://www.afghan-bios.info/index.php option=com_afghanbios&id=995&task=view&total=3381&start=1754&Itemid=2 was an Afghan politician and military commander. He was the first Governor of Ghor after the defeat of the Taliban in 2001. Malikzada completed elementary education in Ghor province. During Jihad, in 1960s, he continued his Science and Islamic education and he acquired expertise in Medicine from (ICC). He was involved in the health services according to the needs of the region until the Fall of 1981, after Mohammad Taher Malikzada, his elder brother was martyred. Baz Mohammad Ahmadi
Baz Mohammad Ahmadi (Ahmady) is the Deputy Minister of Interior for Counter-Narcotics and the former Governor of Badakhshan, in Afghanistan. He used to be Governor of Ghor Province. Ahmadi is an ethnic Tajik and was a mid-level commander in the Jamiat Islami military alliance under Ahmed Shah Massoud that fought in the civil wars that dominated Afghanistan after the withdrawal of Soviet occupation forces in the early 1990s. Sayyed Mohammad Eqbal Munib
Mohammad Eqbal Munib ( prs, محمد اقبال منیب) was a Hazara politician and the former governor of Ghor. Before that he had been governor of Sar-e Pol. As governor of Sar-e Pol Mohammad Eqbal Munib survived two attempts on his life. One was on 24 April 2007, a "mine planted near a brook" which was remotely detonated by unidentified people as Munib's car was passing by. The blast damaged the vehicle but did not cause any casualties. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack. In May 2010 the provincial council of Ghor Province and some civil society organizations wrote a letter to President Hamid Karzai wherein they criticized the performance of Mohammad Eqbal Munib and asked for the dismissal of the governor. Following this, Governor Munib was dismissed by the president due to lack of professionalism.
