Disc Golf
Disc golf, also known as frisbee golf, is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf. Most disc golf discs are made out of polypropylene plastic, otherwise known as polypropene, which is a thermoplastic polymer resin used in a wide variety of applications. Discs are also made using a variety of other plastic types that are heated and molded into individual discs. The sport is usually played on a course with 9 or 18 holes (baskets). Players complete a hole by throwing a disc from a tee pad or area toward a target, known as a basket, throwing again from where the previous throw landed, until the basket is reached. The baskets are formed by wire with hanging chains above the basket, designed to catch the incoming discs, which then fall into the basket, for a score. Kristin Tattar
Kristin Tattar (born 3 July 1992 in Pärnu) is an Estonian professional disc golfer and former competitive cross-country skier. Tattar is Estonia’s most successful disc golfer of all time, and as of 2022 she has achieved the highest PDGA rating of any Estonian female. In 2022 she became the female disc golf world champion. Biography Kristin Tattar graduated from the Otepää branch of the Audentes Sports School in 2011. After high school she went to Tartu and began studies at The Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu. She is a former member of the Estonian youth ski team and a two-time Estonian skiing champion as a youth. In 2011, Tattar gave up skiing due to ill health and started looking for new challenges. Scott Stokely
Scott Stokely is an American professional disc golfer, disc sports (frisbee) teacher, and author. Scott began playing disc golf in 1976 as a junior member of the Oak Grove Gophers at the World's first permanent Disc Golf Course in Pasadena, California. Stokely published an instructional book and videos about disc golf throwing techniques in 2001 and the first Disc Golf autobiography "Scott Stokely: Growing Up Disc Golf" in January 2020. Nathan Sexton is an American professional disc golfer currently sponsored by Innova Champion DiscsAmong his most notable accomplishments are his 2003 Junior I Boys PDGA World Championship and his 2017 United States Disc Golf Championship win, which is his first PDGA Major title as a professional. Johnny Sias
Johnny Sias (born 1952) is a professional disc golfer from Lavalette, West Virginia. He joined the Professional Disc Golf Association in 1986 and became a professional in 1983. Professional career Sias won the 1986 PDGA Professional World Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina, by seven strokes over Clint Mcclellan and Geoff Lissaman. He has also won the 2012 PDGA Grand Masters World Championship, the 2013 Senior Grand Masters World Championship, the 2019 PDGA Masters 65+ World Championship, and the 2022 PDGA Masters 70+ World Championship. Sias finished second, five strokes behind winner Sam Ferrans, at the 1984 PDGA Professional World Championship in Rochester, New York. Barry Schultz is a professional disc golfer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He has played disc golf since the early 1980s, and has been a professional since 1992. He is on the Innova Champion Discs Hall of Fame Team. For a number of years, he was one of the most dominant players on tour. Paige Pierce
Paige Pierce is a professional disc golfer from Plano, Texas. She has won 5 World Championships and 15 total Major Championships, and has been consistently ranked among the top professional women since 2011. In 2018 she broke the record for the highest PDGA player rating a woman had ever achieved at 978. Since then she has broken her own record several times, most recently at 996 rated in March 2021. Tom Monroe (born January 3, 1947) is a champion of virtually all flying disc sports, including ultimate, freestyle, field events and especially disc golf. In 1973, Tom Monroe was in Atlanta for the summer working in order to earn money to re-enroll in college at the University of North Alabama in Florence. That year Wham-O held nationwide frisbee events called "The Great Frisbee Fly In" in conjunction with radio stations all across America. Tom had played frisbee with his roommate in college and could throw pretty well for playing catch and doing a few tricks, so the time had come to test his skills. Hundreds of people showed up for the competition at Grant Park, with events for distance and accuracy. Tom won both events. Eagle Wynne McMahon is an American professional disc golfer from Boulder, Colorado, sponsored by Discmania Golf Discs.
