The List of diplomats of Norway to China began when diplomatic relations were established in 1851. The establishment of diplomatic relations took place during the union between Sweden and Norway, and a Norwegian-Swedish consulate general was established in Guangzhou. A vice consulate was set up in Shanghai in 1853. When the vice consulate in Shanghai became the consulate general in 1863, and the consulate general in Guangzhou was upgraded to a vice consulate. When the union of Norway and Sweden was ended in 1905, Norway sent the consul-general, Thorvald Hansen, to Shanghai. And there was a vice consulate, Jørgen Jacob Eitzen, in Hong Kong. The Norwegian legation in Beijing was established in 1919. It was merged with the consulate general in Shanghai in 1930 (after the Nationalist Government moved to Nanjing in 1928) and remained until 1954. Union Between Sweden And Norway
Sweden and Norway or Sweden–Norway ( sv, Svensk-norska unionen; no, Den svensk-norske union(en)), officially the United Kingdoms of Sweden and Norway, and known as the United Kingdoms, was a personal union of the separate kingdoms of Sweden and Norway under a common monarch and common foreign policy that lasted from 1814 until its peaceful dissolution in 1905. Helge Akre
Helge Akre (1 March 1903 – 12 May 1986) was a Norwegian diplomat. He was a son of Herman Skyrud (1859–1913) and Oline Akre (1871–1967), and bore his mother's last name from 1933. He took his secondary education in Rouen and graduated from the Royal Frederick University with the cand.jur. degree in 1933. He worked as a translator and attorney before being hired in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1936. He served in Brazil, Japan, China, Poland, the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia in his early career. He was then the consul-general in Rotterdam from 1951 to 1958 and Chicago from 1958 to 1963. From 1963 he served as the Norwegian ambassador to the People's Republic of China. From 1967 he led the Norwegian embassy in Iceland. Arne Arnesen (15 February 1928 – 17 December 2010) was a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Moss as a son of dentist Arne Arnesen (1900–1975) and modist Dordi Texnæs (1906–1996). The family moved to Oslo in 1932. Arnesen finished his secondary education, lived in Hamar for some time before enrolling in political science at the University of Oslo in 1949. Torleiv Anda (20 April 1921 – 18 September 2013) was a Norwegian diplomat and politician for the Labour Party. He studied at the University of Oslo during the 1940s. After the 1943 University of Oslo fire he was incarcerated together with hundreds of other students and shipped to "readjustment" camps in Germany. He was incarcerated in Stavern for some time, then from December 1943 he was incarcerated in Sennheim and Buchenwald until the war's end. He finally graduated with the cand.mag. degree in 1948, and spent three years in the Ministry of Social Affairs before he was hired in the cultural department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He became press attaché in the United States in 1959, later in West Germany.
