Sverre Bergh Johansen
Sverre Bergh Johansen (16 October 1939 – 12 March 2017) was a Norwegian diplomat and ambassador. He was a cand.jur. and mag.art. (PhD equivalent) by education and started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1967. The Royal Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Norwegian (Bokmål): ''Det kongelige utenriksdepartement''; Norwegian (Nynorsk): ''Det kongelege utanriksdepartement'') is the foreign ministry of the Kingdom of Norway. It was established on June 7, 1905, the same day the Parliament of Norway (Stortinget) decided to dissolve the personal union with Sweden. The ministry is headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently Anniken Huitfeldt, who is a minister in the Støre cabinet that has governed since 14 October 2021. The ministry also has a Minister of International Development. The List of diplomats of Norway to China began when diplomatic relations were established in 1851. The establishment of diplomatic relations took place during the union between Sweden and Norway, and a Norwegian-Swedish consulate general was established in Guangzhou. A vice consulate was set up in Shanghai in 1853. When the vice consulate in Shanghai became the consulate general in 1863, and the consulate general in Guangzhou was upgraded to a vice consulate. Haakon Baardsøn Hjelde (born 7 December 1941) is a Norwegian diplomat. He was born in Oslo, and is a cand.jur. by education. He started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1965. After a period as deputy under-secretary of state in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1994 to 1999, he became the Norwegian ambassador to the People's Republic of China in 1999. He was then ambassador to Finland from 2003 to 2007.
