Linus Rönnqvist
Linus Rönnqvist (born October 6, 1988) is a Swedish bandy player who currently plays for Villa Lidköping BK. Linus signed for Hammarby from Sandvikens AIK, where he played for the under 19 side in the 2005/06 season, and then for Villa Lidköping BK in December 2008. Bandy
Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). The playing surface, called a bandy field or bandy rink, is a sheet of ice which measures 90–110 meters by 45–65 meters – about the size of a football pitch. The field is considerably larger than the ice rinks commonly used for ice hockey, rink bandy, or figure skating. Villa Lidköping BK is a bandy club in Lidköping i Sweden. The club was formed on January 18, 1934 as Villa BK on Lockörn outside Lidköping, where the old club cottage still is. The club's name comes from the nearby estate (land), country estate Villa Giacomina. Villa has played in the Swedish bandy championships, Swedish championship finals six times, losing 4 out of the 6 appearances in the years 1975, 1983, 2012 and 2016 before finally winning in 2019 and again in 2021. Home games are played in Sparbanken Lidköping Arena. In October 2018, the club won its first Bandy World Cup, World Cup title. Hammarby IF Bandyförening is a Swedish bandy club from Södermalm, Stockholm, a section of the sports club Hammarby IF. Hammarby IF was founded under its present name in 1897 and has been playing bandy since 1905. The club currently play in Elitserien, which is the highest division in Sweden, and has won it twice. History Hammarby IF Bandy is one of the oldest bandy clubs in Sweden, founded in 1905 as a department of sports club Hammarby IF. At this time, there were several other Stockholm teams who also played bandy – AIK, IFK Stockholm, Djurgårdens IF, IF Swithiod and Djursholm. Gripen Trollhättan BK is a bandy club in Trollhättan, Sweden, formed in 1936. The club was named Gripens BK 1936–1988.
