Linnunrata
Linnunrata eXtra (; previously Linnunrata and Space Express) is an indoor roller coaster located at Linnanmäki in Helsinki, Finland. Originally in 2000–2003 it was known as Space Express, but when Linnanmäki started a new naming policy in 2004, using only Finnish names for its rides, the ride was renamed Linnunrata. Linnunrata means Milky Way in Finnish ( Bird's track/orbit/route). When inside, to get to the roller coaster, you first walk through some space station-style corridors. The actual ride has an outer space style, starting by flashing bright LED lights. The track itself is lined with space-themed miniature models. The ride was renewed for the 2016 season, with the addition of virtual reality headsets that you can wear on board if you wish. The name of the ride was changed to Linnunrata eXtra. Linnanmäki ( sv, Borgbacken, colloquially ''Lintsi'', ) is an amusement park in Helsinki, Finland. It was opened on 27 May 1950 and is owned by the non-profit Children's Day Foundation (, ), which operates the park in order to raise funds for Finnish child welfare work. In 2019, the foundation donated , and so far has donated a total of over to this cause. Indoor Roller Coaster
An indoor roller coaster or enclosed roller coaster is a roller coaster built inside a structure. The structure may be unrelated to the ride, or it may be intended solely or primarily for the ride. Many indoor coasters are custom made and placed in amusement parks or shopping malls. Werner Stengel
Werner Stengel (born 22 August 1936, in Bochum) is a German roller coaster designer and engineer. Stengel is the founder of Stengel Engineering, also known as Ingenieurbüro Stengel GmbH (or Ingenieurbuero Stengel GmbH). Stengel first worked on amusement park rides in collaboration with Anton Schwarzkopf in 1963. He established his own company, Stengel Engineering, in 1965. His collaboration with Schwarzkopf was responsible for many innovations in roller coaster design, including in 1976 the first modern "vertical" looping coaster, ''Revolution'', at Six Flags Magic Mountain. (Arrow Dynamics had debuted the first modern inversion, the corkscrew, a year earlier at Knott's Berry Farm).
