Linn Peterson
Linn Peterson (born 8 January 1994) is a Swedish ice hockey forward, currently playing in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with Luleå HF/MSSK. She represented in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Playing career Peterson joined Leksands IF Dam in the 2010–11 Riksserien season and remained with the team until 2015. She joined Brynäs IF Dam for the 2015–16 season before signing with Luleå HF/MSSK in the 2016–17 season. She has gone on to win three Swedish Championship titles with Luleå. International play As a member of the Swedish national under-18 team, Peterson played in the IIHF U18 World Championships in 2011 and 2012, winning the bronze medal in the latter year. She was a member of the Swedish team at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics, where she won a gold medal. Mariestad
Mariestad () is a locality and the seat of Mariestad Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 16,611 inhabitants in 2019. Until 1997 it was the capital of the former Skaraborg County and an episcopal see in the Church of Sweden between 1583 and 1646. 2012 Winter Youth Olympics
The 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games (german: Olympische Jugend-Winterspiele 2012), officially known as the I Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG), were an international multi-sport event for youths that took place in Innsbruck, Austria, on 13–22 January 2012. They were the inaugural Winter Youth Olympics, a major sports and cultural festival celebrated in the tradition of the Olympic Games. Approximately 1100 athletes from 70 countries competed. Brynäs IF (women) Players
Brynäs IF is a Swedish professional ice hockey team from Gävle. The club currently plays in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), promoted from the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second tier of ice hockey in Sweden, following the 2023–24 season. The club played in the top-tier Swedish league from 1960 to 2023 (1960-75 called Division I, 1975-2023 called the SHL), a total of 63 seasons, longer than any other Swedish club, before suffering relegation for the first time in franchise history at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season. They have won the Swedish championship 13 times, second only to Djurgården with 16 wins. In the 2023/2024 Hockeyallsvenskan season Brynäs won promotion back to the SHL after beating Djurgården 4-0 in the final. International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey. Hanna Olsson
Hanna Olsson (born 20 January 1999) is a Swedish ice hockey player and member of the Swedish national team, currently serving as captain of Frölunda HC in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). She is considered one of the best young Swedish players and was already the seventeenth all-time scorer in SDHL history at 21 years of age. Playing career Olsson played for the Skärgårdens SK boys' teams until she was 16. From 2013 to 2015, she split her time between the team and various Riksserien (renamed SDHL in 2016) teams. She made her Riksserien debut in 2013 with HV71 Dam and picked up 3 points in 8 games during the 2012–13 season. She scored 31 points in 27 games in the 2016–17 season as Djurgårdens IF won the SDHL championship for the first time. Sweden At The 2022 Winter Olympics
Sweden competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, from 4 to 20 February 2022. Oliwer Magnusson and Emma Nordin were the country's flagbearers during the opening ceremony. Meanwhile biathlete Elvira Öberg was the flagbearer during the closing ceremony. With eight gold medals and 18 medals in total, this was Sweden's most successful Winter Olympics of all time in terms of both gold and total number of medals, beating the previous records set in 2018 and 2014, respectively. It marked the first time Sweden won medals in six different sports at the Winter Games, and they managed to win gold medals in these sports.
