Linköping HC (women)
Linköping HC or LHC is an ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL). They are the representative women's ice hockey team of Linköping HC, a sports club based in Linköping, Östergötland, Sweden, and play at the Stångebro Ishall. LHC Dam won the Swedish Championship in 2014 and 2015. History In 2006, the Linköping HC organization committed to becoming the best club for women's ice hockey in Sweden, stating that the women's team would be one of the club’s elite teams, on equal footing with the men's team and the men's junior teams. The team made its debut in the group stage of the 2007–08 season of Division 1 (since renamed ''Damettan'') and swept the eight-game series. Linköping
Linköping () is a city in southern Sweden, with around 105,000 inhabitants as of 2021. It is the seat of Linköping Municipality and the capital of Östergötland County. Linköping is also the episcopal see of the Diocese of Linköping (Church of Sweden) and is well known for its cathedral. Fanny Rask
Fanny Victoria Camia Rask (born 21 May 1991) is a Swedish ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward and member of the Sweden women's national ice hockey team, Swedish national team, playing in the Swiss Women's League (Switzerland), Women's League (SWHL A) with HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls. She has represented Sweden in over 100 international matches, including the Winter Olympic Games in the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics, 2018 as well as at three IIHF World Women's Championship, IIHF Women's World Championships. Point (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss. Games Played
Games played (GP) is a statistic used in team sports to indicate the total number of games in which a player has participated (in any capacity); the statistic is generally applied irrespective of whatever portion of the game is contested. AIK Hockey Dam
AIK Hockey Dam is a professional ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (, SDHL), the top flight of Swedish's women's ice hockey. They play in Solna Municipality in Stockholm, Sweden at the Ritorps Ishall. History AIK were promoted to Riksserien, the predecessor of the SDHL, in 2008. They won the Swedish Championship twice in their first five top-flight seasons, in 2009 and 2013. In 2017, the team participated in the Minnesota Whitecaps' tour of Stockholm, playing against them on 22 August. After dropping in the standings again, down to 7th in the 2017–18 season, Jared Cipparone was brought in to take over as head coach for the club. Zuzana Tomčíková (born 23 April 1988) is a Slovak retired ice hockey and ball hockey goaltender, currently working as a sports specialist with the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee. She was a member of the Slovak women's national ice hockey team from age 12 to 26, and represented Slovakia in the 2010 Winter Olympics and at several IIHF Women's World Championships. As a member of the Slovak women's national ball hockey team, she won silver medals at the Ball Hockey World Championship in 2009 and 2013, bronze in 2015, and placed fourth in 2017. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence.
