Fanny Rask
Fanny Victoria Camia Rask (born 21 May 1991) is a Swedish ice hockey Forward (ice hockey), forward and member of the Sweden women's national ice hockey team, Swedish national team, playing in the Swiss Women's League (Switzerland), Women's League (SWHL A) with HC Ambrì-Piotta Girls. She has represented Sweden in over 100 international matches, including the Winter Olympic Games in the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics, 2018 as well as at three IIHF World Women's Championship, IIHF Women's World Championships. Club career Rask played on boy's teams in her youth, including playing on the same team as her brother Victor Rask, Victor. The two would also play bandy with each other in their home garden. She spent a season and a half playing in Örebro when she was 14 before joining Linköping HC (women), Linköping HC Dam when Riksserien was created as the top flight of women's hockey in Sweden in 2007. Leksand
Leksand () is a locality and the seat of Leksand Municipality in Dalarna County, Sweden, with 5,934 inhabitants in 2010. Sport Leksand is famous for the Leksands IF ice hockey team, who have won 4 Swedish Championships, although the team is currently facing problems in performance when playing and they have received less funds. Leksand is also home to the Leksands Baseball and Softball Club, the oldest and one of the more successful baseball clubs in Sweden, having won 20 national championships in baseball and 7 in softball. The club was founded in the late 1950s and currently has about 130 members. Additionally, Leksand is home to the Baseball Academy Leksand, a Major League Baseball (MLB)-sponsored academy established in 2006. IIHF World Women's Championship
The IIHF World Women's Championship (WW or WWC), officially the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship, is the premier international tournament in women's ice hockey. It is governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The official world competition was first held in 1990, with four more championships held in the 90s. From 1989 to 1996, and in years that there was no world tournament held, there were European Championships and in 1995 and 1996 a Pacific Rim Championship. From the first Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Tournament in 1998 onward, the Olympic tournament was played instead of the IIHF Championships. Afterwards, the IIHF decided to hold Women's Championships in Olympic years, starting in 2014, but not at the top level. 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship was an international Ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in Espoo, Finland from 4 to 14 April 2019 at the Espoo Metro Areena. The United States won their fifth consecutive and ninth overall title after a shootout win over Finland. Canada claimed the bronze medal by defeating Russia 7–0. After the 2017 tournament, it was announced that tournament would expand to ten teams for 2019, having been played with eight teams since the first tournament in 1990, except in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2009, where nine teams played. The 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship was an international Ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was held in Plymouth Township, Michigan, United States from 31 March to 7 April 2017. The USA Hockey Arena served as the event's venue using Arena I and Arena II. The 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship was the 17th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in Kamloops, Canada from 28 March to 4 April 2016. The women's tournament in ice hockey at the 2018 Winter Olympics was held in Gangneung, South Korea between 10 and 22 February 2018. Eight countries qualified for the tournament; five of them did so automatically by virtue of their ranking by the International Ice Hockey Federation, one, South Korea, automatically qualified as hosts, while the two others took part in a qualification tournament. Under a special agreement with the IOC and the IIHF, twelve North Korean players joined the host team to form a united team. They were allowed to have an expanded roster of 35 where 22 players dress for each game. Three North Korean players were selected for each game by coach Sarah Murray. International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Luleå Hockey/MSSK is a professional ice hockey team in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL), the top-tier of women's ice hockey in Sweden. They play in Luleå, a port city in northern Sweden, at the Coop Norrbotten Arena. Anna Borgqvist
Anna Borgqvist (born 11 June 1992) is a Swedish retired ice hockey forward and the head coach of Leksands IF 2 in the Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL). As a member of the Swedish national ice hockey team, she participated in five IIHF Women's World Championships and two Winter Olympic Games. Playing career Her club career was played across fourteen seasons in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL; called Riksserien until 2016) with the Växjö Lakers, Leksands IF, Brynäs IF, and HV71.
