Line 6 of the Wuhan Metro was opened on 28 December 2016. It is the fifth line of the Wuhan Metro to be opened since its creation. A 7-km extension to the line opened on 26 December 2021. Wuhan Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Wuhan, Hubei, China. Owned and operated by Wuhan Metro Group Co., Ltd., the network now includes 11 lines, 282 stations, and of route length. With 1.22 billion annual passengers in 2019, Wuhan Metro is the sixth-busiest rapid transit system in mainland China. There are a number of lines or sections under construction. The government of Wuhan City promised the citizens that at least two lines or sections open every year. Dongxihu District () is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, forming part of the city's western suburbs. It lies on the north (left) bank of the Han River. Caidian District () is one of 13 urban districts that constitute the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, forming part of the city's southwestern suburbs and situated on the northwestern (left) bank of the Yangtze River. Qiaokou District
Qiaokou District () forms part of the urban core of and is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China, situated on the northern (left) bank of the Han River.
