Lindamägi is a park in Tallinn, Estonia. The park is located on the Swedish Bastion. Swedish Bastion was built in 1690s. In 1850s, the Swedish Bastion was changed to the park. In 1920, the bronze sculpture "Linda" was erected in the park. The sculpture was made by August Weizenberg August Ludwig Weizenberg (6 April 1837 – 22 November 1921) was an Estonian sculptor. Weizenberg was born in the inn of Ritsike, near Kanepi, southeast Estonia. Weizenberg's father was a shoemaker and he learnt how to carve wood in Erastv .... The park is named after this sculpture. Estonian Encyclopaedia Publishers ( et, Eesti Entsüklopeediakirjastus) was an Estonian publisher which published reference literature (like encyclopedias, atlases) and popular science literature. As of 2009 publisher's main shareholders were Hardo Aasmäe (owned 25.6%), (owned 20.4%), and Ülo Kaevats (owned 12.0%). In 2011 the publisher went bankrupt. However, the bankruptcy proceedings got stuck because the owner of the publishing house's last office, Ülemiste City, confiscated the property in the company's office and sold it to cover the 9,000-euro rent debt. Bankruptcy administrator Tiina Mitt estimated its value at over 4.3 million euros. The location of sold documents, author contracts and books under editing is unknown. August Weizenberg
August Ludwig Weizenberg (6 April 1837 – 22 November 1921) was an Estonian sculptor. Weizenberg was born in the inn of Ritsike, near Kanepi, southeast Estonia. Weizenberg's father was a shoemaker and he learnt how to carve wood in Erastvere from 1858 to 1862. During the 1860s, he worked as a cabinetmaker in Frankfurt and Berlin. Thanks to a sponsorship from Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald, he travelled to Saint Petersburg where he was trained by Alexander von Bock. He later studied at the Imperial Academy of Arts, and from 1870 to 1873 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. From 1873 to 1890, he lived in Rome.
