John Lill
John Richard Lill (born 17 March 1944 in London) is a British classical pianist. Biography Lill studied at the Royal College of Music with Angus Morrison, and with Wilhelm Kempff. His talent emerged at an early age, he gave his first piano recital at the age of nine and by the age of 14 had all of the Piano Sonatas of Beethoven committed to memory. At age 18, he performed Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto under Sir Adrian Boult followed then by a much-acclaimed 1963 London debut playing Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 at the Royal Festival Hall. In 1970 he won the Moscow International Tchaikovsky Competition (ex-aequo with Vladimir Krainev). It was said by Sidney Harrison that "he (John Lill) simply devours Beethoven. I set him work for the week - he does that and more." Pille Lill (born on April 20 in 1962) is an Estonian opera singer (soprano) and an active member of the cultural life, the founder and artistic director of PLMF Music Trust. Biography Pille Lill started her journey as a musician with piano studies at Pärnu Children's Music School. Paul Lill
Paul-Adolf Lill (25 January 1882 – 13 March 1942) was an Estonian military officer and Minister of War. He served in the Imperial Russian Army, participating in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. Lill joined the Estonian Army during the 1918–1920 Estonian War of Independence, and held important staff positions. After the war he continued military service, holding posts of Chief of Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces, Undersecretary of the Minister of War, and from 1933 to 1939 Minister of War, reaching the rank of lieutenant general. With the onset of Soviet occupation, he was arrested by NKVD in 1941, and died in imprisonment the following year. Mickey Lill
Mickey Lill (3 August 1936 – October 2004) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth. Career He began as a trainee at London non-league club Storey Athletic before being spotted by West Ham United. However, he left for then-Champions Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1954 still as an apprentice. The winger made his first team debut on 7 December 1957, scoring in a 2–1 win at Preston North End. However, he did not feature again that season as Wolves won the league title for a second time. He really broke through at Molineux in the following campaign as the club successfully retained the League Championship, making 18 appearances and scoring 12 goals. Märt-Matis Lill (born 6 November 1975) is an Estonian composer. Märt-Matis Lill was born in Tartu, the son of writer, translator, cultural critic and philosopher Jaan Kaplinski and classical philologist and translator Anne Lill. Guitarist and violinist Emil Lansoo was his grandfather. He studied composition at the Tallinn Music High School under Lepo Sumera. In 1999 he graduated from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Mari Lill (born 21 December 1945) is an Estonian stage, film and television actress whose career began onstage in the late 1960s. Early life and education Mari Lill was born in Tallinn to Felix Lill and Asta Lill (''née'' Multer) just after the end of World War II and the Soviet occupation and annexation of Estonia. Her father Felix was arrested by Soviet authorities and spent several years sentenced to forced labor in the gulag system in Siberia when she was still an infant.
