Liam Cronin
Liam Cronin (born 1968) is an Irish retired Gaelic footballer who played for the Tipperary senior team. Born in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Cronin first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team before later joining the junior side. He joined the senior panel during the 1992 championship. Cronin subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen. At club level Cronin is a five-time championship medallist with Moyle Rovers. Cronin retired from inter-county football following the conclusion of the 2004 championship. In retirement from playing Cromin became involved in team management and coaching. He served as coach of the Tipperary minor team on one occasion. Moyle Rovers GAA
Moyle Rovers GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. History The club derives its name from the river Moyle that runs through the Parish and joins the Anner. The club was founded in 1928. Previous to this since the 1800s various teams represented the parish in local leagues most often the Clonmel League. Kilsheelan GAA club have recorded games played against Powerstown in the early 1900s. The 1990s Football The club's grounds, Monroe, was officially opened in 1990. Soon after in 1991 they won their first South senior football title and in 1995 their first ever County senior football championship final win. Further victories in this grade followed in 1996/98/99/00 along with these Moyle Rovers also won four South Senior football titles; and contested two Munster club finals also. The 2004 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2004 Bank of Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the premier Gaelic football competition in 2005. It consisted of 33 teams and began on Sunday 2 May 2004. The championship concluded on Sunday 26 September 2004, when Mayo were defeated by Kerry by 1–20 to 2–9. Declan Browne
Declan Browne (born 16 June 1978) is an Irish Gaelic football coach and player who competed at inter-county level for Tipperary county football team, Tipperary for 11 years. He currently plays his club football for Moyle Rovers GAA, Moyle Rovers. He represented Ireland against Australia in the 2003 and 2004 International Rules series. Playing career Browne made his championship debut in 1996 in a Munster Senior Football Championship, Munster championship game against Kerry GAA, Kerry. Browne received Tipperary's first football All-Star in 1998 when he was picked at corner-forward after leading the Tipperary team to the Munster Football Final. The Tipperary Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Tipperary. The winners of the Tipperary Championship qualify to represent their county in the Munster Senior Club Football Championship, the winners of which advance to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. History Over the decades, the Tipperary championship has been dominated by teams from South Tipperary, with Fethard and Clonmel Commercials leading the roll of honour, though Loughmore-Castleiney from Mid Tipperary strongly challenge and were the 2014 champions. The Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the FBD Insurance Tipperary County Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Tipperary County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1887 for the top hurling teams in the county of Tipperary in Ireland. The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Semple Stadium in October. The prize for the winning team is the Dan Breen Cup. The 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 106th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 17 May 1992 and ended on 20 September 1992. Down entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Derry in the Ulster semi-final. Clare shocked many people by defeating Kerry in the Munster final to win only their second provincial senior title (their first having come in 1917); they narrowly lost to Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final. Gaelic football ( ga, Peil Ghaelach; short name '), commonly known as simply Gaelic, GAA or Football is an Irish team sport. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. The objective of the sport is to score by kicking or punching the ball into the other team's goals (3 points) or between two upright posts above the goals and over a crossbar above the ground (1 point). Players advance the football up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). In the game, two types of scores are possible: points and goals. A point is awarded for kicking or hand-passing the ball over the crossbar , signalled by the umpire raising a white flag.
