Levan Korgalidze
Levan Korgalidze (born 21 February 1980) is a former Georgia (country), Georgian midfielder and current manager of Kazakhstan Premier League club FC Zhenis, Zhenis. Korgalidze played regularly for the Georgia national under-21 football team. His debut called up to the Georgia national football team, national team was in 2003. He is the son of Otar Korghalidze. Coaching career Korgalidze started his coaching career in 2017 at FC Saburtalo Tbilisi, Saburtalo Tbilisi at youth level. In the summer of 2018, he joined Locomotive Tbilisi as assistant manager and head coach of U15s. In April 2019, following some unsatisfactory results, Locomotive fired the manager, replacing him with Korgalidze. Under his leadership, the team not only climbed out of the drop zone, but also qualified for the 2020-21 UEFA Europa League, 2020 Europa League for the first time since 2008. The 2020 Erovnuli Liga or Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga 2020 (formerly known as ''Umaglesi Liga'') was the 32nd season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dinamo Tbilisi were the defending champions. The season began on 29 February 2020 and ended on 10 December 2020. The league winner, Dinamo Tbilisi, earned a place in the UEFA Champions League and the second and third-placed clubs, Dinamo Batumi and Dila Gori respectively, earned a place in the new UEFA Europa Conference League. In March the season was suspended following a decision by the Georgian Football Federation due to COVID-19 pandemic, initially until 1 April, but later the suspension was extended to late June. FC Locomotive Tbilisi is a Georgian football club from the capital, Tbilisi. During the existence of the USSR the club was a part of the Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society. The club has strong connections with the Georgian Railways. History Locomotive was founded on 14 August 1936 as a part of Lokomotiv sports society. The club won Georgian championship in 1937, which gave them the permission to participate in USSR Top League. Their debut season in the highest level of the Soviet football championship came in 1938, where the club took 24th place out of 26 and got relegated. Otar Korghalidze ( ka, ოთარ კორღალიძე; born 2 September 1960) is a Georgian former professional football player and manager. During his playing career Korgalidze played for various clubs in Georgia, Austria, Azerbaijan and Estonia. He spent several seasons in the Soviet Top League and Soviet First League with FC Guria Lanchkhuti, FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Torpedo Kutaisi. Korgalidze scored 3 goals in 8 games during his short spell at Flora Tallinn. Otar Korgalidze retired in 2000. His last club was FC Kuressaare. Georgia National Under-21 Football Team
The Georgia national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Georgia and is controlled by the Georgian Football Federation. The team is considered to be the feeder team for the senior Georgian national football team. The team competes in the European Under-21 Football Championship, held every two years. Since the establishment of the Georgian under-21 side, the under-21 side has never reached a final tournament of the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.
