Les Mamelles
Les Mamelles () is an administrative district of the Seychelles, located in the south of the Greater Victoria (suburban) area on Mahé, the main island of the archipelago. The district is located inward from the adjacent coastal district of Roche Caiman. It is not to be confused with Mamelles Island some 13 kilometers northeast of Mahé. Districts Of Seychelles
Seychelles is divided into 26 districts. All but one are located on the Inner Islands; the Outer Islands (''Zil Elwannyen Sesel'') make up the most recent district. Eight districts make up Greater Victoria, 14 make up the rural part of the main island of Mahé, two make up Praslin, and one makes up La Digue (which includes small surrounding islands and some distant islands like Silhouette, North Island, Denis, Bird). The capital city of Victoria consists of three districts: English River, Saint Louis and Mont Fleuri. Between 1991 and 1993, the original 23 districts were local government units with elected councils. Since then, they have been governed by government-appointed administrators. Bernard Georges (politician)
Bernard Georges (born 24 August 1955) is a Seychellois politician who currently serves as the Leader of Government Business in the National Assembly of Seychelles. Biography A lawyer by profession, he is a member of the Seychelles National Party, and was first elected to the Assembly in 2002. Georges' popularity in Seychelles was fueled in part by his radio program on Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation's SBC Radio which explained the laws and how they worked to people of Seychelles. He and his wife, Annette, run the law firm, "Georges and Georges", which specializes in property and commercial disputes. In 2015, he was appointed to Judge of the Court of Justice for the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa. Linyon Demokratik Seselwa ( en, Seychellois Democratic Alliance/Union, LDS) is a liberal political coalition which has governed since 2016 in the Seychelles. They have 25 seats in the National Assembly. The coalition was originally made up of the four main opposition parties: the Seychelles National Party (SNP) led by Wavel Ramkalawan, the Seychellois Alliance (LS) led by Patrick Pillay, the Seychelles Party for Social Justice and Democracy led by Alexia Amesbury and the Seychelles United Party led by Robert Ernesta. Mahé is the largest island of Seychelles, with an area of , lying in the northeast of the Seychellean nation in the Somali Sea part of the Indian Ocean. The population of Mahé was 77,000, as of the 2010 census. It contains the capital city of Victoria and accommodates 86% of the country's total population. Roche Caïman () is an administrative district of Seychelles located on the island of Mahé. It has a football stadium where its national team play most of the home matches.
