Leipzig–Eilenburg Railway
The Leipzig–Eilenburg railway is a two-track, electrified mainline railway in the German state of Saxony, originally built and operated by the Halle-Sorau-Guben Railway Company (german: Halle-Sorau-Gubener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft) as the Eilenburg Railway (''Eilenburger Eisenbahn''). It runs from Leipzig to Eilenburg and is part of the long-distance connection from Leipzig to Cottbus. Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund
The Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV) is a transport association in the German Leipzig-Halle (Saale) area. The company is based in Halle (Saale), but its head office is in Leipzig. The MDV is a so-called mixed transport association (''Mischverbund''). Its shareholders are the public authorities (e.g. the administrative districts) (51%) and the transport companies (49%).
