''Lehigh Valley News'' is an online newspaper serving the Lehigh Valley in eastern Pennsylvania. History ''Lehigh Valley News'' was founded in October 2022 under the auspices of John J. Moser, the president of news at WLVT-TV, and his vice president Jim Deegan. Moser is an industry veteran who worked as a music correspondent for ''The Morning Call'' for 30 years, and served as assistant metro editor and editor of its offices in Bethlehem, Lehighton and Quakertown. The pair sought to "revitalize" local news, and to become the leading media company in the Lehigh Valley. Moser would become deputy director, while Deegan would become executive editor. ''Lehigh Valley News'' is owned by Lehigh Valley Public Media, the same company that owns Allentown-licensed PBS affiliate WLVT-TV and NPR affiliate WLVR-FM, licensed in Bethlehem. An online newspaper (or electronic news or electronic news publication) is the online version of a newspaper, either as a stand-alone publication or as the online version of a printed periodical. Going online created more opportunities for newspapers, such as competing with broadcast journalism in presenting breaking news in a more timely manner. The credibility and strong brand recognition of well established newspapers, and the close relationships they have with advertisers, are also seen by many in the newspaper industry as strengthening their chances of survival. Susan Wild (née Ellis; born June 7, 1957) is an American attorney and politician from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. A Democrat, she is a member of the United States House of Representatives from . The district is in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, and includes Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Bangor, and East Stroudsburg. Wild spent the last two months of 2018 as the member for after Charlie Dent resigned in 2018. Since September 2022, she has been chair of the House Ethics Committee. She also co-chairs the New Democrat Coalition Climate Change Task Force and is vice chair of both the Congressional Labor and Working Families Caucus and the Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations. Muhlenberg College is a private liberal arts college in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1848, Muhlenberg College is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and is named for Henry Muhlenberg, the German patriarch of Lutheranism in the United States. Northampton County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 312,951. Its county seat is Easton. Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District
Pennsylvania's 7th congressional district includes all of Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties; and parts of Monroe County. The district is represented by Democrat Susan Wild. From 2013 through 2018, the district incorporated parts of the Philadelphia suburbs, including most of Delaware County, along with portions of Chester, Montgomery, Berks, and Lancaster Counties. The district exhibited extreme non-congruity during that time as a result of gerrymandering. On January 22, 2018, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled that the map violated the state constitution, and in February, it issued its own district boundaries for use in the 2018 elections and representation thereafter.
