Lefteris Bochoridis
Eleftherios "Lefteris" Bochoridis ( Greek: Ελευθέριος "Λευτέρης" Μποχωρίδης; born April 18, 1994) is a Greek professional basketball player for Panathinaikos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, he is a left-handed, 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) tall combo guard. Early career As a younger player, Bochoridis was speculated and compared by some as being a possible successor to fellow Greek player Dimitris Diamantidis in the future, but never quite lived up to those great expectations. Professional career Bochoridis began his pro career with the Greek League club Aris in 2010. With Aris, he played in the final game of the Greek Cup in 2014. Bochoridis' player rights were then sold to the Greek club Panathinaikos in July 2014, for €350,000 euros. On July 29, 2014, Panathinaikos announced the signing of Bochoridis to a 5-year deal. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Combo Guard
A combo guard is a basketball player who combines the attributes of a point guard (1) and shooting guard (2), but does not necessarily fit the standard description of either position. In men's basketball, such guards are usually within the 6' 3" (1.91 m) and 6' 5" (1.96 m) height range. Most combo guards tend to be between point and shooting guards in terms of height, although some possess the height of a point or shooting guard specifically which affects how each plays. Greek National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece took part the in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice; while also coming away with one silver ( 1989) as well as two bronze medals (1949, 2009). The 2014 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship was the 17th edition of the FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. The competition was played in Crete, Greece, from 8 to 20 July 2014. The winners were Turkey. The 2015–16 Greek Basketball Cup was the 41st edition of Greece's top-tier level professional national domestic basketball cup competition. The competition started on September 29, 2015, and ended on March 6, 2016.
