Nathaniel Lees is a New Zealand theatre actor and director and film actor of Samoan descent, best known for film roles in ''The Matrix Reloaded'', ''The Matrix Revolutions'' and '' The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'' and for starring in ''Young Hercules'' as Chiron the centaur. Acting career Lees was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He was brought up in an environment where Samoan was commonly spoken, so he grew up thinking of himself as being Samoan. He got his first acting job because of "being brown", as the theatre required brown people running around on stage killing Captain Cook. Part of the audition was him walking through the door, and upon doing so, he "had the job". Merv Lees
Mervyn John Lees (1932-2018) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s. He was a premiership-winning centre with the St George Dragons and a New South Wales rugby league team, state representative. Career Merv 'Smacka' Lees played five seasons at the St George Dragons between 1953-1958 and began his rugby league career at the Banksia, New South Wales, Banksia Waratahs R.L.F.C. as a child. He went on to win a premiership with St George Dragons, St George in 1956 NSWRFL season, 1956 under coach Norm Tipping, and also played in the 1953 NSWRFL season, 1953 grand final side that were runners up. Injuries curtailed his career, and he retired in 1959. Lees was a prolific tryscorer. Meg Lees
Meg Heather Lees (née Francis, born 19 October 1948) is a former member of the Australian Senate from 1990 to 2005, representing the state of South Australia. She represented the Australian Democrats from 1990 to 2002, and was her party's leader from 1997 – 2001. After being deposed by Natasha Stott Despoja, she quit the party to sit as an independent senator in 2002, adopting the party designation Australian Progressive Alliance from 2003 until her electoral defeat in 2005. Marjory Lees
Marjory Lees (9 September 1878 – 11 May 1970) was a British suffragist and local politician. Lees was active in the local women's movement in Oldham, Greater Manchester where she became the honorary secretary of the local branch of the National Union of Women Workers. Life Marjory Lees was born in Oldham, Greater Manchester in 1878, her mother was politician and activist Dame Sarah Lees. Marjory, like her mother, became active in local politics and the wider women's suffrage movement. She made charitable to donations to the local community, began a career as a poor law guardian and became president of the Oldham Women's Suffrage Society. Lees also took part in the Suffrage Pilgrimage in 1913. Joanne Lees
Joanne Rachael Lees (born 25 September 1973) is a British woman who was attacked and subjected to an attempted abduction while travelling in Australia with her partner Peter Falconio. Lees escaped her attacker, but Falconio was never found. The attacker was identified as Bradley John Murdoch, and in 2005 he was convicted of Falconio's murder. Lees was the chief crown witness in the murder trial, which was conducted in Darwin. She later wrote a book about her experiences, which was made into a television film. Early life Lees was born on 25 September 1973, and lived her first 11 years with her mother Jenny (who had separated from her father). Jim Lees
James Travers Lees, QPM (18 August 1920 – 3 September 2004) was the Commissioner of the New South Wales Police from 17 October 1979 to 29 December 1981. Private life Lees was born in 1920 at Hornsby, New South Wales, and went on to attend the Hurlstone Agricultural High School. He had initially wanted to be a farmer but found that he was not suited for a life on the land. Lees married his wife Norma in October 1944. They went on to have a family with children Sue, John and Peter. Lees also taught a Sunday School and was heavily involved with his church. He also established the Police Christian Fellowship. (George) James Henry Lees-Milne (6 August 1908 – 28 December 1997) was an English writer and expert on country houses, who worked for the National Trust from 1936 to 1973.
