Lee Shu-chuan
Lee Shu-chuan (; born 1 February 1958) is a Taiwanese politician. He was the deputy mayor of Kaohsiung from 25 December 2018 to 12 June 2020. He previously served in multiple positions within the Taipei County Government, and was Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan from 2014 to 2015, when he was named the Secretary-General of the Kuomintang. He stepped down from that position when his term ended in March 2016. Early life Lee obtained his master's degree in electrical engineering from National Taipei University of Technology in 2001. He then joined the National Taiwan University faculty. Political career In the mid-2000s, Lee served the Taipei County Government as the director of the New Construction Department. Lee Hong-yuan
Lee Hong-yuan (; born 21 June 1956) is a Taiwanese politician. He was the Minister of the Ministry of the Interior (MOI) of the Executive Yuan from 2012 to 2014. Early life Lee Hong-yuan was born in Taishan, Taipei County to a farmer family. His father Lee Teng-hui served as head of the district. Lee's younger brother is Lee Hung-chun. He obtained his bachelor's degree in hydraulic engineering from National Cheng Kung University. He then earned an M.S. (1982) and Ph.D. (1984) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa, where was inducted as a member of the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Academy in 2008. Chiang Wan-an
Chiang Wan-an (; born 26 December 1978), also known as Wayne Chiang, is a Taiwanese politician who is the mayor of Taipei. He is the son of former Vice Premier John Chiang, and is believed to be a great-grandson of former President of the Republic of China Chiang Kai-shek. He is the youngest mayor of Taipei since the appointment of Chang Feng-hsu. Upon graduation from National Chengchi University and the University of Pennsylvania, Chiang worked as a corporate lawyer in the United States before returning to Taiwan for politics. 2020 Kaohsiung Mayoral Recall Vote
The 2020 Kaohsiung mayoral recall vote was a recall election held on 6 June 2020 to recall the incumbent mayor of Kaohsiung, Han Kuo-yu. The recall was successful, as the number of ''agree'' votes (939,090) outnumbered ''disagree'' votes and exceeded the minimum requirement of 574,996. An acting mayor was appointed by the Executive Yuan and held office until 24 August 2020, nine days after 2020 Kaohsiung mayoral by-election, a by-election was held. The vote is the largest-scale recall vote in Taiwan in terms of electorate, and is the first ever successful recall of a mayor or magistrate. National Taiwan University (NTU; ) is a public research university in Taipei, Taiwan. The university was founded in 1928 during Japanese rule as the seventh of the Imperial Universities. It was named Taihoku Imperial University and served during the period of Japanese colonization. The Kuomintang (KMT), also referred to as the Guomindang (GMD), the Nationalist Party of China (NPC) or the Chinese Nationalist Party (CNP), is a major political party in the Republic of China, initially on the Chinese mainland and in Taiwan after 1949.
