Jacob Fleck
Jacob Fleck (8 November 1881 in Vienna as Jacob Julius Fleck – 19 September 1953, also in Vienna) was an Austrian film director, screenwriter, film producer and cameraman. He is noted for his long-standing professional partnership with his wife Luise Fleck who co-directed his films with him. Biography In 1910, together with Anton Kolm, Kolm's wife Luise (who later married Fleck), and her brother Claudius Veltée, Jacob Fleck established the film production company ''Erste Österreichische Kinofilms-Industrie'' in Wien-Alsergrund. The company changed its name only a year later to ''Wiener Kunstfilm-Industrie'', in which Fleck worked partly as a cameraman, but principally as a producer and director together with Luise Kolm in making numerous films. Anton Kolm
Anton Kolm (12 October 1865 in Vienna as Gustav Anton Kolm – 11 October 1922, also in Vienna) was an Austrian photographer who became one of the first film directors and film producers in the history of Austrian cinema. A skilled photographer, he started to make short films privately from as early as 1906, but these were not intended for cinemas. On the basis of his preparatory work he founded in 1910, together with his wife, Luise Kolm, and Jacob Fleck, the ''Erste österreichische Kinofilms-Industrie'', which at the end of the following year was renamed Wiener Kunstfilm-Industrie, and remained for a long time the leading film production company of Austro-Hungary. Kolm occupied himself principally with the finances and the direction of the business, and was only actively involved in a part of the firm's productions, while his wife, one of the earliest female film directors, was responsible for the creative work. Juliane "Liane" Haid (16 August 1895 – 28 November 2000) was an Austrian actress and singer. She has often been referred to as Austria's first movie star. Biography Juliane Haid was born in Vienna on 16 August 1895, the first child to Georg Haid (1864–1951) and Juliane Haid (1873–1939). She had two younger sisters, Grit Haid, Grit, who also became an actress, and Johanna (1903–1964). Haid trained both as a dancer and singer and became the epitome of the ''Süßes Wiener Mädel'' ("Sweet Viennese Girl") and a popular pin-up girl, pin-up throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Her first motion picture was a propaganda film made during the First World War, ''Mit Herz und Hand fürs Vaterland'' (1916). Luise Fleck
Luise Fleck, also known as Luise Kolm or Luise Kolm-Fleck, née Louise or Luise Veltée (1 August 1873–15 March 1950), was an Austrian film director, and has been considered the second ever female feature film director in the world, after Alice Guy-Blaché. Her son, Walter Kolm-Veltée, was also a noted film director. Technically, however, the second female feature film director in the world after Alice Guy-Blaché was chronologically Ebba Lindkvist, having debuted as a film maker one year before Luise Fleck. Friedrich Feher (born Friedrich Weiß, 16 March 1889 – 30 September 1950) was an Austrian actor and film director. He first entered the film business in 1913, starting out as an actor but quickly gravitated toward directing. He is perhaps best remembered as Francis, the protagonist of '' The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari'' (1920). He directed ''The House Without Windows'' that same year (based on a book by Thea von Harbou), in which his art directors mimicked the Expressionist set designs of ''Caligari''; it is now considered a lost film. Feher died in 1950 in Stuttgart at age 61.
