Lazar Serdanović
Lazar Serdanović (Serbian: Лазар Сердановић; 1744 in Sombor, Habsburg monarchy – 1799 in Sombor, Habsburg Monarchy) was a Serbian painter. He was part of a group of painters representative of the high Baroque style, consisting of Grigorije Davidović-Obšić, Mojsije Subotić, Grigorije Jezdimirović and himself. Little known Sombor painter from the Baroque period, Lazar Serdanović, was active mostly in Orthodox churches in Srem and Slavonia. He is most remembered for the icons he painted with colleagues Teodor Kračun and Jovan Isailović (Sr.) in Sombor's Serbian Orthodox Church of St. George (''Crkva Svetog Đorđa'') which is in mixed Baroque, Roccoco, and Classic styles. Serbian art refers to the visual arts of the Serbs and their nation-state Serbia. Vukovar () ( sr-Cyrl, Вуковар, hu, Vukovár, german: Wukowar) is a city in Croatia, in the eastern region of Slavonia. Roccoco
Rococo (, also ), less commonly Roccoco or Late Baroque, is an exceptionally ornamental and theatrical style of architecture, art and decoration which combines asymmetry, scrolling curves, gilding, white and pastel colours, sculpted moulding, and ''trompe-l'œil'' frescoes to create surprise and the illusion of motion and drama. Jovan Isailović
Jovan Isailović Sr. (1756-1825) was a Serbian icon and mural painter who lived and worked in the late eighteenth century and early nineteenth century. In 1772 he started painting an iconostasis in the Church of St. George in Sombor with fellow painters Teodor Kračun and Lazar Serdanović. The iconostasis in the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Saint George, better known as Sveti Đurađ monastery in Romanian Banat, is also linked to Jovan Isailović Senior, dating from 1803 to 1804, and presenting a strong Byzantine influence. Isailović Senior also worked with his colleague painter Janko Halkozović. Many of the iconostasis and icons attributed to him were pillaged during World War II. Teodor Kračun
Teodor Dimitrijević ( sr-cyr, Теодор Димитријевић; 1730–10 April 1781), known as Teodor Kračun (Теодор Крачун) was a Serbian icon and altar painter. Biography He was born at Sremska Kamenica in 1730. His original surname was Dimitrijević, but later the nickname "Kračun" stuck. He studied art under Dimitrije Bačević, a well-known icon- and portrait painter, before taking monastic vows and entering the Vienna Academy in 1769. During his lifetime he produced numerous icons and altarpieces that are still extant today in Serbian Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches and cathedrals throughout the province of Vojvodina.
