Laurence Bareil
Laurence Bareil is a Québécois journalist and television host. Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, she began her career in the media at the age of 17 as a trainee for the local TVA owned-and-operated station, CHEM-DT. In 2002, she began studying communication at the Université du Québec à Montréal while attending courses at Promédia School, a structure offering training in spoken journalism. At the end of her training, she was hired by the channel Canal Vie to host a program called ''Tous les chemins''. Working at first at RDS, she joined the TVA, where she became a reporter and weather presenter. She also co-hosted the cooking show ''Qu'est-ce qui mijote'' (''What's Cooking''). Since 2013, she has hosted a series called ''La Reine du Shopping'' (''The Queen of Shopping'') on Canal Vie. Trois-Rivières (, – 'Three Rivers') is a city in the Mauricie administrative region of Quebec, Canada, at the confluence of the Saint-Maurice River, Saint-Maurice and Saint Lawrence River, Saint Lawrence rivers, on the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River across from the city of Bécancour, Quebec, Bécancour. TVA (Canadian TV Network)
TVA is a Canadian French-language terrestrial television network, owned by Groupe TVA, a publicly traded subsidiary of Quebecor Media. Headquartered in Montreal, the network only has terrestrial stations in Quebec. However, parts of New Brunswick and Ontario are within the broadcast ranges of TVA stations, and two TVA stations operate rebroadcasters in New Brunswick. CHEM-DT
CHEM-DT is the TVA owned-and-operated television station in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Canada. It broadcasts a high-definition digital signal on VHF channel 8 from a transmitter on Rue Principale in Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel. Owned by the Groupe TVA subsidiary of Quebecor Media, its studios are located on Boulevard de Chanoine-Moreau and Rue Jacques de Labadie in Trois-Rivières. Réseau des sports (RDS), is a Canadian French language specialty channel oriented towards sports and sport-related shows. It is available in 2.5 million homes, and is owned by CTV Specialty Television Inc. (Bell Media 80% and ESPN 20%). Its full name (usually prefaced in speech by the French article "le") translates as "The Sports Network", the name of its Anglophone counterpart, TSN. ''Big Brother Célébrités'' is the Quebec celebrity version of the international reality show ''Big Brother''. It premiered on January 10, 2021 on Noovo. Produced by Banijay and Groupe Entourage, it is hosted by singer Marie-Mai Bouchard. Similar in format to the American, American Celebrity,and Canadian English versions of the program, the show features a group of public figures from Quebec, known as housemates, living in a custom-built house under constant surveillance, with cameras and microphones to track their every word and action.
