Laurel Mall is a shopping mall which opened in 1973 just northwest of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States. It features three current anchor stores, Boscov's, Dunham's Sports with one anchor jointly occupied by Planet Fitness and Hobby Lobby; TJ Maxx is a junior anchor. 10-theater Regal Cinemas and Aldi are outparcels. The mall is managed by Lexington Realty. History 20th century Opened in 1973, the mall was developed by Associates of the Eighties. It initially featured two anchor stores: Zayre at the west end, and " Fowler, Dick, and Walker, the Boston Store" at the east end. Original tenants included GNC, Hickory Farms, Karmelkorn, Waldenbooks, Rea & Derrick Drugstore, and an A&P supermarket, of which only GNC remains and moved within the mall in 2016. Boscov's Inc. is a family-owned department store with forty-nine locations in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Twenty-six of these stores are located in Pennsylvania. Corporate headquarters are located in Exeter Township, Pennsylvania, near Reading. Karmelkorn
Karmelkorn was an American popcorn retailer. It was founded in 1928 in Casper, Wyoming, by Mr. and Mrs. William O'Sullivan. The O'Sullivans patented their candy-coated popcorn and trademarked the product's name and logo in 1929. Initially, they licensed the product to existing confectioneries before creating a chain of franchised Karmelkorn stores. Within four years, the O'Sullivans had 535 stores licensed to sell its product in North America including candy stores and peanut / popcorn stands. The original slogan of the product was "Delicious Karmelkorn: The Flavor That Can Not be Copied." McCrory Stores or J.G. McCrory's was a chain of five and dime stores in the United States based in York, Pennsylvania. The stores typically sold shoes, clothing, housewares, fabrics, penny candy, toys, cosmetics, and often included a lunch counter or snack bar.
