Late September
''Late September'' is the debut and only studio album by British electronic music duo Deepest Blue. It was released after two UK top ten singles, "Deepest Blue", "and Give It Away", but did not match the success of the singles, peaking at number 22 on the UK Albums Chart and number 13 on Scottish Albums Chart. It did however go on to sell over 70,000 copies in the United Kingdom and was certified Silver. This album was also released in several countries around the world, including Mexico where it peaked at number 69 on the Albums chart. It was also released in selected European and Asian countries. Some editions of the album were released as Limited Edition, including a bonus disc with remixes. Worldwide, the album's success was limited, going on to sell 300,000 copies, causing the professional split of the band members Matt Schwartz & Joel Edwards after being dropped by Ministry of Sound. Deepest Blue
Deepest Blue are a British electronic music duo comprising Matt Schwartz and Joel Edwards. They are best known for their UK Top 10 hit singles, "Deepest Blue" (2003) and " Give It Away" (2004). History Deepest Blue consists of Joel Edwards and Matt Schwartz. Schwartz had worked with Arthur Baker, Mica Paris, JTQ and Massive Attack prior to Deepest Blue. He collaborated with Massive Attack on their album ''Mezzanine'', helping to co-write "Dissolved Girl" which was used in the 1999 film ''The Matrix''. After being signed to Warner Chappell, fellow producer and singer-songwriter Edwards went on to work with Ed Case, Planet Funk, Chicane, M Factor, Skin and Melanie C. Deepest Blue's first single, "Deepest Blue", was released in 2003. It peaked at No. 7 in the UK Singles Chart, their highest chart entry. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. The OCC produces its charts by gathering and combining sales data from retailers through market researchers Kantar, and claims to cover 99% of the singles market and 95% of the album market, and aims to collect data from any retailer who sells more than 100 chart items per week. Darrin Mooney
Darrin Shane Mooney (born 26 April 1967, Merton, London) is an English session drummer, best known for his work with Primal Scream and Gary Moore. Mooney started playing at the age of 12 at school. Throughout his school years, he played in various school bands and orchestras, playing both drums and percussion. At the age of 18 Darrin went along to a NYJO (National Youth Jazz Orchestra) rehearsal in London and was inspired as he watched the others play. He was an official member of electro-rock band Babylon Zoo (1996-1999) In 1997 he joined Primal Scream and worked with Gary Moore from 2001. Simon Hale
Simon Hale is a British composer, arranger, and keyboardist. Life Hale was born in Birmingham, England in 1964, being dually raised there and in South Manchester before moving to London, where he studied popular music at Goldsmiths College, University of London from 1982 to 1985. He is married to Claire Moore. His father is Tony Hale, formerly Head of Music and Programming at Capital Radio. Work He is best known for his arrangements on CDs for Jamiroquai, Björk, BT, Duncan Sheik, Madness, Incognito, Supergrass, The Beautiful South, George Benson, Josh Groban, Charlotte Church and Robin Gibb. Storm Elvin Thorgerson (28 February 1944 – 18 April 2013) was an English graphic designer and music video director. He is best known for closely working with the group Pink Floyd through most of their career, and also created album or other art for Led Zeppelin, Phish, Black Sabbath, UFO, Peter Gabriel, the Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Yes, Kansas, Dream Theater, Muse, Audioslave, the Mars Volta, The Cranberries, Helloween, Ween and Catherine Wheel. The Scottish Albums Chart is a chart compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) which is based on how physical and digital sales towards the UK Albums Chart fare in Scotland. The official singles chart for Scotland, the Scottish Singles Chart, which was based on how physical and digital sales towards the UK Singles Chart were faring in Scotland, has not been published since 20 November 2020.
