Lat Phrao Intersection
Lat Phrao Intersection ( th, ห้าแยกลาดพร้าว, ) is a major road junction in Chatuchak District of the Thai capital Bangkok. It is where Phahonyothin and Vibhavadi Rangsit roads—the city's two main northward highways—cross each other, and is also the beginning of Lat Phrao Road, which leads eastward through its highly populated suburbs. The junction carries the second-highest amount of road traffic in the city. As a five-way junction with multiple flyovers, some directions of traffic must follow complicated routes through the junction. The elevated Don Mueang Tollway runs above the flyovers carrying Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, and the northward extension of the BTS Skytrain's Sukhumvit Line, opened in 2019, soars above as a third level of elevated infrastructure. Chatuchak Park
Chatuchak Park ( th, สวนจตุจักร; ) is a public park in the southwest part of Chatuchak District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is also the name of the Chatuchak Park MRT Station that lies under the park. Its name is the origin name of Chatuchak district. Chatuchak Park is one of the oldest public parks in Bangkok. It was built on the land formerly owned by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), in dedication to former King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), on the occasion of his 4th cycle (48 years) birthday anniversary on December 5, 1975. The King thus granted the name "Chatuchak" (meaning 4 cycles) to the park. 2013–2014 Thai Political Crisis
The 2013–2014 Thai political crisis was a period of political instability in Thailand. Anti-government protests took place between November 2013 and May 2014, organised by the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), a political pressure group led by former Democrat Party parliamentary representative ( MP) Suthep Thaugsuban. The crisis eventually resulted in the removal of incumbent Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, a coup d'état, and the establishment of a military junta. The primary aim of the protests was the removal of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's – the brother of Yingluck – influence on Thai politics and the creation of an unelected "people's council" to oversee reforms of the political system. People's Democratic Reform Committee
The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) or People's Committee for Absolute Democracy with the King as Head of State (PCAD) was a reactionary umbrella political pressure group in Thailand. Its aim was to remove the influence of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra from Thai politics by deposing the incumbent Pheu Thai government of Yingluck Shinawatra and creating an unelected "People's Council" to oversee political reforms. The group played a key role in the 2013–14 Thai political crisis and the lead up to the 2014 Thai coup d'état, organising large-scale protests within Bangkok and disrupting voting in the 2014 Thai general election in order to prevent a predicted victory by Pheu Thai. Wachirabenchathat Park, or often spelled Vachirabenjatas Park ( th, สวนวชิรเบญจทัศ, , ), also popularly known as State Railway Public Park (, , ) is a name of public park in Chatuchak district, Bangkok, Thailand. The park borders on the Queen Sirikit Park and Chatuchak Park, and it is also the largest park of the complex, bounded by Kamphaeng Phet 3 road and Kamphaeng Phet 2 road with Soi Nikhom Rotfai Sai 1 near PTT Head Office and Ministry of Energy. MRT Blue Line
The MRT Blue Line ( th, รถไฟฟ้า สายสีน้ำเงิน) or MRT Chaloem Ratchamongkon Line ( th, รถไฟฟ้ามหานคร สายเฉลิมรัชมงคล) is Bangkok's third rapid transit line, following the Sukhumvit line and Silom line of the BTS Skytrain.
