''Las Juanas'' is a Mexican telenovela created Bernardo Romero Pereiro, based on the 1997 Colombian telenovela of the same name written by the same creator. The series originally aired from September 6, 2004 to March 4, 2005. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia).
