Languriini is a tribe of lizard beetles in the family Erotylidae, subfamily Languriinae. There are about 5 genera and at least 20 described species in Languriini. In the present circumscription, it contains 6 tribes (Tritomini, Dacnini, Megalodacnini, Erotylini, Cryptophilini, and Languriini) and 10 subfamilies ( Cryptophilinae, Dacninae, Encaustinae, Erotylinae, Languriinae, Loberinae, Megalodacninae, Pharaxonothinae, Tritominae, and Xenoscelinae). In other words, the narrowly circumscribed Erotylidae correspond to the subfamily Erotylinae in the definition ''sensu lato''. ''Acropteroxys gracilis'', the slender lizard beetle, is a species of lizard beetle in the family Erotylidae. It is found in Central America and North America, including into Canada. With a body length range of 6-12mm, it is narrower and shorter than its relative, ''A. lecontei'',A review of the North American Languriidae. Vaurie P. 1948. Bull.
