Langli (island)
Langli is a small marsh island in the Ho Bugt near Esbjerg on the Danish North Sea Coast. It is long and is accessible from Ho over a long causeway at low tide. Langli (original “Langeleje” = long camp) was up to the flood of 1634 part of a peninsula. Afterwards sea-laterally a second peninsula (today Skallingen) began to develop itself, which from now on protected Langli. The island was used for agriculture from the 16th century, but was not permanently settled until 1840 when two families moved there. They diked the island and successfully operated agriculture. In 1911 there were 38 inhabitants and even one school A school is the educational institution (and, in the case of in-person learning, the Educational architecture, building) designed to provide learning environments for the teaching of students, usually under the direction of teachers. Langli Station
Langli Station () was a railway station located at Langli in Ski, Norway. Situated on the Eastern Østfold Line, it was from Oslo Central Station (Oslo S). Established as a flag stop in 1928, it saw limited traffic, with only 15 daily boarding and disembarking passengers in 2008. It consisted of a simple wooden side platform and a shed. The station closed on 9 November 2012. History Langnes was established as a flag stop in 1928, when the Norwegian State Railways introduced flag stops at a large number of intersections along the Eastern Østfold Line in order to compete better with bus and truck services. Due to the short platform, the Norwegian National Rail Administration was required by the Norwegian Railway Authority to either upgrade the platforms or close the station by 2019. The Rail Administration evaluated that the station had limited patronage and little possibilities of future growth as there were no plans for development within the catchment area. They therefore de ...
