Lambersart
Lambersart () is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. This commune is located in the Métropole Européenne de Lille, and is a suburb of the city of Lille, bordering it on its northwest side. Inhabitants of the town are called ''Lambersartois''. Victor Mollet
Victor Jean-Baptiste Mollet (22 August 1860 – 17 December 1944), usually simply Victor Mollet, was a French architect based in Lille. He was the first architect from the Nord–Pas-de-Calais region to receive a degree from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and became one of the more prominent exponents of regionalist architecture in northern France at the turn of the twentieth century. Life and career Mollet matriculated first to the local Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lille, where he was a student of Alfred Newnham, before entering the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1884. He studied with Louis-Jules André, and then his successor Victor Laloux, receiving his degree (''diplôme'') on 22 January 1891. Jean Vercoutter
Jean Vercoutter (20 January 1911 – 16 July 2000) was a French Egyptologist. One of the pioneers of archaeological research into Sudan from 1953, he was Director of the Institut Français d'Archéologie Orientale from 1977 to 1981. Biography Born in Lambersart, Nord, Vercoutter attended the Académie Julian to learn about painting, but soon turned to Egyptology. In 1939, he graduated from the IVe section of the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes with a thesis on ancient Egyptian funerary objects and was appointed resident of the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology of Cairo (IFAO). He participated in excavations in Karnak and directed an excavation in Tod. Upon his return to France, he joined CNRS (1949–1955). Southborough, Kent
Southborough is a town and civil parish in the borough of Tunbridge Wells in Kent, England. It lies immediately to the north of the town of Tunbridge Wells and includes the district of High Brooms, with the A26 road passing through it. Deûle
The Deûle (; nl, Deule) is a river of northern France which is channeled for the main part of its course (from Lens to Lille). The upstream part is still partly free-flowing and is known as the Souchez. The Deûle flows into the Lys (right bank) in Deûlémont. The Souchez is formed from the union, in the village of Souchez, of two smaller brooks, called the Carency and the Saint-Nazaire. The channeled part comprises two branches: *the high gauge canal known as Canal de la Deûle which ensures the connection between the channeled Lys and the Scarpe (a tributary of the Scheldt) in Douai, *the Canal de Lens, fed by the Souchez, which connects Lens with the Canal de la Deûle at Courrières.
