Platte County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 32,237. Its county seat is Columbus. The county was created in 1855. Platte County comprises the Columbus, NE Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau.
