Lake Fenton High School
Lake Fenton High School is a high school located in Linden, Michigan. It is the only high school in the Lake Fenton Community Schools school district. History Lake Fenton Community Schools was one of the last school districts in Genesee County to be consolidated in its current form (but not the last—see Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools), and the last consolidated school district in that county to have a high school of its own. The Lake Fenton Community School was built in 1956 to replace several one-room schools in Fenton Township. The plan called for a grade to be added each year until serving Kindergarten through 12th grade. The addition of the high school grades became possible in 1959 with the construction of a high school wing to the building on 11425 Torrey Road. Linden, Michigan
Linden is a city in southern Genesee County, Michigan, United States. Its population was 4,142 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Flint metropolitan area. History Linden was settled in late 1835 by two brothers, Richard and Perry Lamb. Perry Lamb provided housing for travelers. The village of Linden subdivision was platted by Consider Warner and Eben Harris in 1840. Warner and Harris also built the Springer's Hotel hostelry that same year. On September 23, 1851, the Linden post office was opened. North Linden village was platted in the northwest corner of section 20 along the railroad on January 31, 1857. Linden was incorporated as a village in 1871 by an act of the Legislature. In 1974, the community began to hold its Summer Happening festival. In 1988, Linden changed its incorporated status from village to city. Flint Metro League
Flint Metro League (FML) is a high school sports league in the Flint area of Michigan. It is composed of twelve high schools. History In 1968, six Flint area schools formed a new league to play against schools of similar size and to cut down on travel for some schools. Two teams, Fenton and Swartz Creek, joined from the County B League, and one each from the Big Nine Conference (Ainsworth), Wayne-Oakland League (Holly) and Tri-County League ( Lapeer High) and a new high school: Carman. The league in 1983 contained 10 schools but by 2002 there were seven teams. Carman-Ainsworth Community Schools is a Michigan public school district teaching kindergarten through 12th grade. The district covers parts of Flint Township, Flint (minor), Mundy Township and Burton. History School District #8 was formed in 1837. With the donation of a section of Elijah Carman's farm land, which is now the corner of Bristol and Fenton Roads, in 1847 the district was renamed as the Carman School District. Charter Township of Fenton is a charter township of Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 15,552 at the 2010 census. The cities of Fenton and Linden were formed from areas formerly within the township.
