Lake Bodom
Lake Bodom ( fi, Bodominjärvi; sv, Bodom träsk) is a Finnish lake located in the city of Espoo, not far from Helsinki. The lake measures approximately three kilometres in length and one kilometre in width. It is surrounded by five districts in Espoo: Kunnarla in the west, Röylä in the north, Bodom in the northeast, Högnäs in the southeast, and Karhusuo in the southwest. The lake is notorious for being the scene of a triple homicide that occurred in the early morning hours of 5 June 1960, when four teenagers (two boys, Nils Gustafsson and Seppo Boisman and two girls, Tuulikki Mäki and Irmeli Björklund) went on a camping trip to the lake and were mysteriously attacked while sleeping in their tent. Three were killed and one survived. In June 2005, the only survivor, Gustafsson, was charged with murdering his friends. Espoo
Espoo (, ; sv, Esbo) is a city and municipality in the region of Uusimaa in the Republic of Finland. Röylä
Röylä (; sv, Rödskog , ) is a district of Espoo, Finland. It is located in the Pohjois-Espoo area, northern shores of the Lake Bodom. Röylä had 410 inhabitants at the turn of the year 2019–2020 and the average age of the residents is 56,6 years. The Swedish name ''Rödskog'' literally means "red forest", but it may be an abbreviation of the words ''rödjad skog'', which means a " burn-clearing forest" for agricultural purposes. For the most part, Röylä consists of fields and forests. Many Stone Age settlements have been found in Röylä. The building stock of the area is almost completely detached houses. There are several small and smaller lakes in the western part of Röylä, such as Häkläjärvi, Sorvalampi, Hepolampi and Igelträsk. Lake Bodom Murders
The Lake Bodom murders is one of the most infamous unsolved homicide cases in Finnish criminal history. On 5 June 1960, at Bodom Lake in Espoo, Uusimaa, Maila Björklund and Anja Mäki (both 15) and Seppo Boisman (18) were killed by stabbing and blunt-force trauma to their heads while sleeping inside a tent. The fourth youth, Nils Gustafsson, then aged 18, was found outside the tent with broken facial bones and stab wounds. Despite extensive investigations, the perpetrator was never identified and various theories on the killer's identity have been presented over the years. Gustafsson was unexpectedly arrested on suspicion of committing the murders in 2004, but he was found not guilty the following year. Children Of Bodom
Children of Bodom was a Finnish melodic death metal band from Espoo. Formed in 1993 as Inearthed, the final line-up of the group upon their split in 2019 consisted of Alexi Laiho (lead guitar, lead vocals), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboard), and Daniel Freyberg (rhythm guitar). The band released ten studio albums, two live albums, two EPs, two compilation albums and one DVD. The band's third studio album, ''Follow the Reaper'', was their first album to receive a gold certification in Finland, and subsequent studio albums acquired the same status. Their next four albums debuted at number one on the Finnish album charts, and have also seen chart positions on the United States ''Billboard'' 200.
